At some point, like hate speech leading to hate crimes, could a pattern of disrupting and destroying forums with free political speech be considered prima facie trolling--judged by its frequency and effect on a forum?

BTW, many nations around the planet have now made broadcasting hate seeds via hate speech a crime. Virulent sustained patterns of that behavior are considered hate crimes--because they are considered a threat to the peace and stability of those nations, as they have become here in our nation.

So now if you don't like something a State Rep. says about crime, - you're trolling. Okay, I get it.

All she did in the interview is discuss PERCEPTIONS some in the South Side black community she represents have about the astronomical numbers of unsolved murders, while pointing out that the disparities seen there when compared to white communities in terms of the rates of unsolved murder cases. After saying some people were "suspicious" of the police, she immediately denounced it as a tragedy that the lack of trust between South Side residents and the PD is so pronounced, but remains unapologetic about giving voice to her constituents.

Quite naturally, winger media sources and their readers who do not bother to check facts are misrepresenting the State rep nine ways to Sunday.

they gave for saying what they said. I think it is a State rep's job to give voice to her constituents. If they are reacting to what they perceive to be racially biased preferential practices by the police department when investigating murders of KIDS, then I see nothing wrong with her saying it right out loud. I mean, stranger things have happened and it's not that hard to believe that the murder of kids from prominent white families in Chicago just MIGHT be high-profile affairs that get wall-to-wall local coverage, whereas those South Side murders scarcely get a mention, except perhaps on the obituary page in the Chicago Tribune.

Contrary to what the OP implied, this is not HER belief. It is what the some in the community she represents believes. She promptly characterized the entire situation, including the suspicions they have, as "a tragedy."

I do not think what she said is race baiting, anymore than the president's remarks were. He merely recounted his own personal experiences which evidently many other young black men share. Given the events of the past week, clearly his comments were meant for the national audience and IMO, they were entirely appropriate. I think the state rep exposed a stark reality for some in the black community and that her reporting on it was also entirely appropriate, both within the context of the local crime epidemic and the ongoing national dialogue post Zimmerman verdict.

Entirely appropriate - Ob's remarks - they would have been if - he were a person of honor.
