I wanna be the President

I've been reading this board, and it seems that those who support Pres Obama feel that he is not responsible for much, as it would seem with all of the recent stories hitting the news sites. His primary voice seems to eminate around the equality being nonexistence.

Exactly what message does that send? I am a normal individual and it sends the message to me is we are an unfair country, we offer no opportunity to any minority. Apparently it has sent the same message to many Americans which is the basis for many posters expressing their concern for Pres Obama contributing to a feeling of division. It certainly has not helped in any way and has possibly done damage.

Call me prejudice if you like, I live in a blended neighborhood, I have an African-American family living on one side of me, an Asian family living on the other side, a single white female living across the street and this is representative of the streets in my neighborhood. A month or so ago, one of the African-American individuals living next door was sick and hospitalized. When she came home, I took over some food I made for them. They were so thankful, not as much for the food as they were worried the election was going to change our relationship. Yup, I know there is one of you that will call me a liar. Yeah I saw those posts where someone posted an opinion or just some belief they have, no harm to anyone, yet there was that one that had to poke fun or call them a liar.

It seems the supporters of Pres Obama on this board do not actually hold Pres Obama accountable for anything. It seems you don't feel the President should know what is going on in our foreign soil Embassies, he doesn't need to know what is going on with high officials in his cabinet and departments, he isn't accountable for any of our national debt, he is not accountable for choosing individuals who act responsibly and report significant issues to him in a timely manner, he is only accountable for taxing the rich and continuing/improving all the social services.

I personally am proud to be one of those stupid, God-fearing Church pew rider, brainless, Fox News-watching, blog reading, misinformed, prejudice idiots. God bless all of us.

To the poster who posted, "..does it mean if the rich get poorer, the poorer get richer…" that was the most awesome, thought provoking, absolutely priceless post I have read on this board.

I agree with everything you said, and I want to thank you for your comment in your last sentence about my previous post. Some people still don't get it, though. In that same thread, I posted the difference between capital gains and income tax. I thought I had made it pretty simple and understandable, and yet someone posted a reply that proves that the logic just isn't getting through.

I pray that our country can get through the next few years without ending up like Greece.

I bow to no political party. I just wanted to get that out up front before people start bashing me for what I'm about to say here. Part of what he says is tax cuts will help do that. We have seen through decades that this has not created jobs and merely put more money in the pockets of the wealthy.
