After Koch gift. After the United Negro College Fund accepted a $25 million grant from Koch Brothers, Inc and the Charles Koch Foundation, The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) sent a letter to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) yesterday ending their relationship. This includes a paid internship program. In the letter, AFSCME President Lee Saunders condemned the action as “not only deeply hostile to the rights and dignity of public employees, but also a profound betrayal of the ideals of the civil rights movement.” He further accused the Koch Brothers of being “the single most prominent funders of efforts to prevent African Americans from voting”. UNCF President Michael Lomax responded with this statement: “While I am saddened by AFSCME’s decision, it will not distract us from our mission of helping thousands of African American students achieve their dream of a college degree and the economic benefits that come with it,” ;

[ In Reply To ..]exactly what an absolute hoot it must have been to watch the last 6 years of GOP establishment versus Tea Party/far right ideologue infighting and finger pointing, culminating with the Mississippi Senate race complete with overt racism, secessionist neoconfederates, arrests for breaking into nursing homes of the opponent's wife to take political exploitation photos (complete with apparent suicide of one the alleged perpetrators), one opponent's staff being locked in the courthouse after hours with all the ballots, pandering to Democrats for votes for the runoff, and finally McDaniel refusing to concede his loss, and lately allegations of bribery and accusations of not being conservative enough. And this thing is just getting started.
Get your popcorn ready. You've not seen real turning on each other until you've seen the final chapter of the Mississippi mud slinging massacre and upcoming GOP meltdown that is what's known as conservatism.
True the Vote Files Lawsuit - Against MS GOP
[ In Reply To ..]In June Senator Thad Cochran won the GOP primary runoff election over conservative challenger Chris McDaniel after 25,000-35,000 Democrats helped push him to victory.
Thad Cochran won the election over Chris McDaniel by 6,880 votes in the June 24 runoff.
However, since the election, the McDaniel campaign quickly found 1,000 examples in one county of Democrats who voted in the June 3rd primary as Democrats and then crossed over into the Republican primary this week. This is illegal and their votes should not be counted.
The Chris McDaniel for Senate campaign identified multiple Mississippi counties where this occurred.
McDaniel supporters were barred from reviewing voter rolls in nine Mississippi counties.
On Thursday True the Vote, the nation’s largest voter integrity organization, filed a lawsuit against the Mississippi Republican Party for destruction of absentee ballot documents, double voting and discarded legal votes found statewide. True the Vote reported:
True the Vote (TTV), the nation’s leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, today filed a motion with the Jackson Division of the U.S. District Court, requesting temporary restraining order and injunctive relief be issued against the Mississippi Republican Party and all defendants to prevent further tampering, redaction, or destruction of voter records by Defendants or their agents.
