Karl Rove wannabee? - NJ

Either this guy doesn't understand you have to stay behind the scenes to be successful like Rove, or he's just a hitman, a guy sent out by the bosses to do the dirty work.

Maybe it's neither, NJ. (sm) - Nikki

People who are racist, want Obama out of the White House and make racial slurs seem to be coming out of the woodwork and are no longer hiding underneath their white sheets. I don't think I've ever seen such blatant, "in-your-face," publicly vocal racism in this country (it was going on when I was a small child but I never understood it) as I see now. We even have a poster on this board now who wants "the black man out of the White House." We also have those who are taught in church to kill Obama and make his wife a widow (just posted yesterday), as well as all the new militias popping up, some recruiting American soldiers (also just posted yesterday, I believe -- not sure).

Rove did bother to hide the dirt and did do an admirable job of it, but I'm starting to wonder if they even care enough to hide it today. Today, they seem to be proud to be associated with racism and violence. They seem like a swarm of angry bees that is ready to explode, and I find it downright scary at times. (And by "they," I'm not referring to anyone on this board, though "Sheesh" makes me quite uncomfortable with his/her desire to "get the black man out of the White House."

What has happened to us as a nation? Is it that if we could only get rid of the "black guy" then everything would be better?

I just don't know any more...

Nikki, how often have you heard "sheesh"? It's not a common expression. I use it, though. Also, note the use of smilies in those posts? Parroting my own use of them? I suspect it's the same parrot/troll with nor an original thought in his/her head.

Whoever it is will get no response from me.

I absolutely see your point. - Nikki

In fact, I had responded to another extremely offensive post this person had written above because I became very upset by it. I came back to the computer just now, after calming down a bit, and deleted my post because I felt that this person doesn't deserve a response.

I couldn't agree with you more.

I need to address this because it is just something that really hits home to me. You bring up some issues that need to be addressed.

First, as a black woman I can't tell you how proud I am that this country has come so far to show it's possible that a black man can be elected to office. On the other hand I am totally ashamed (thanks to my parents guidance) that there were people who voted for him solely because he's black.

The racist issue you brought up. You're using it as an excuse. You are making up things that are not true. Yes there are racists in this country. Not saying there aint. Always has and always will be. At the same time there are other racists too. Those who call people racist when there is no racist action on the other people's part. For instance Chris Matthews. Why did he think it's necessary to point out no black people were at a book signing. That is a racist comment against whites. I have a lot of friends who show they are racist against white.

You are confusing intelligent and concerned citizens who are standing up for their beliefs that this nation can be great, but the wrong person is in office with people being a "racist". My father told me these white people (and black people too) who call others racist when there is no racism involved are racists themselves. Can't tell you how many people I know (friends, family, and black people across the country), who want the president out of office. Not because of his race, but because he is incompetent. You need to know the difference. Your using the "race card" as an excuse.

I can tell you one thing for certain... you have not seen any "in-your-face" publicly vocal racism in this country". Where? Why? Because people are saying Obama's performance has been poor? Well you know what? It has been. I, and a lot of my friends and people across the country who are also black say that. We are not racist. You are making things up that aren't there to try to somehow prove a point or provoke something. But there are enough of us that know it's not working.

And I'll tell you something else. You take one circumstance of this church thing and try and make it sound like all across America people in churches are being taught to kill Obama. This is an outright "un-truth". No churches are teaching this to their congregation. I searched for this article you said was just posted yesterday. I can't find it and I don't believe it. That is not what people in church do - teach others to kill, and to say it because you think you're proving some kind of point it's not flying.

Nobody is proud to be associated with racism and violence. Every time the country takes a step forward, people who post things like what you did takes the country two steps backward.

Nobody wants to get rid of the guy because he's black. They want to get rid of all the people who are destroying the country. Nobody believe that if we get rid of P.Obama things will get better. People are intelligent enough to know he's not the one in charge. He's not the one destroying the country. People don't want him out, they want congress out. They know that once we have a balance of the house/senate the country can begin to heal itself.

I've not heard any stories of this church thing you talk about, and no stories about "getting rid of the black guy".

If the country is going to heal we need to keep it real. I'm sure if there were these stories you talk about it would be all through my community.
Seriously - NJ

I can't believe you are black and say "(n)obody wants to get rid of the guy because he's black." You can't possibly be so insulated from the racism in the US. It's just not possible. It's impossible for me to believe you don't know the KKK is still active. Impossible to believe you don't think the exponential rise in threats the Secret Service has to track down isn't related to race (see previous thread with details).

You can't be that out of the loop. You can be black and not support Obama; I'd have no problem believing that. But the rest isn't believable at all.

NJ
that's not what I said - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I did say there is racism in America. Always has been and always will be. But the poster is trying to make it out that every church and every white person in America wants the President out/dead because he's a black man. That is just not true. Sure there are the extremist. But you know what, they were there with Bush, Clinton, and every single president before that. I'm not hearing a lot of we want him this or that just because he's black. Believe me if that was going around the people in my community and church would be hearing about it and there would be some talk about it.

People are saying they want him out because he's not qualified. If there was this one case that the poster spoke about I'm not hearing about it on the TV. You know MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, they would all be covering it. It's not on, which leads me to believe this is made up.

You know I know there is racism in this country. Even in the year 2009 you wouldn't think I hear half the stuff I do, but I'm telling you these churches where they are telling people to kill him because he's black....sorry I aint buyin that. That is not what pastors teach in their church no matter what denomination.

Yes there are a lot of black people who do not support Obama not because of race, because of his policies. You should have watched Glenn Beck last week there was an audience that was really an eye opener.
Nope, you aren't what you claim - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
Nah, I'm not buying it. I quoted your post in my reply and it's just not adding up. Anonymity doesn't cover up everything about you.

I can't even say "nice try" because it's pretty lowball.

NJ
Well since you don't know me - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Then what you just said is of no importance. Until you can come through and see me and prove I am not black (or maybe I'm just not black enough for you) I don't really care whether you "buy it" or not.

I don't come on this board to prove my race to you. Even if I was white what difference would the color of my skin make. I do believe you are being racist.

And I don't care whether you think you can or cannot say "nice try". There was nothing for you to say it about. My race and heritage is none of your business and has nothing to do with what the subject was about. The subject was about some bogus story about churches teaching their congregation to kill Obama. That is just a bunch of baloney, but hey....go ahead and get off the subject. That's what your MO usually is.

So I say to you that because I'm black I'm supposed to think every white person is out to get President Obama? That is just a load of BS. There are many blacks who do not agree with what he is doing.

As for whether or not you believe whatever race I am I could give an s. I don't come on this board to discuss my race or get approval from you on whether I can say what my race is.

You my dear are a racist.
