Where is the proof of Judge Thomas - chiding colleagues?

As per their norm, HuffPo distorts what - Clarence Thomas said - see attached article

SINCE HUFFPO ROUTINELY DISTORTS ANYTHING NOT LIBERAL TO A NEGATIVE SPIN, HERE'S THE ENTIRE ARTICLE
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Maybe it's Southern courtesy or his introverted nature that keeps him from interrupting attorneys during oral arguments, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said Thursday evening.
Whatever the reason, the Georgia native had a blunt assessment about the rapid-fire questioning from his colleagues during recent hearings on the nation's health care law. The queries weren't helpful to him in deciding the case, he said.
And Thomas suggested his loquacious colleagues should do more listening and less talking.
"I don't see where that advances anything," he said of the questions. "Maybe it's the Southerner in me. Maybe it's the introvert in me, I don't know. I think that when somebody's talking, somebody ought to listen."
His remarks drew applause from the audience that heard Thomas' insights on the court during a 90-minute appearance at the University of Kentucky.
Thomas has gained a reputation for staying silent during oral arguments before the high court.
He said the lawyers presenting their cases are capable and don't need guidance from the justices: "I don't need to hold your hand, help you cross the street to argue a case. I don't need to badger you."
Thomas was asked specifically about the plethora of questions during three days of oral arguments as the justices decide whether to kill or keep President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. But Thomas said it's become habit for justices to interrupt lawyers.
"We have a lifetime to go back in chambers and to argue with each other," he said. "They have 30, 40 minutes per side for cases that are important to them and to the country. They should argue. That's a part of the process.
"I don't like to badger people. These are not children. The court traditionally did not do that. I have been there 20 years. I see no need for all of that. Most of that is in the briefs, and there are a few questions around the edges."

HuffPo spun it like Clarence Thomas was - angy or displeased by their title
[ In Reply To ..]
Yet, Judge Thomas laid out a very calm explanation of his thoughts in a respectful manner towards counselors appearing before the SC with emphasis on consideration of their limited time to present their arguments before the SC.
See definition below of "chide"...poor choice by HuffPo, but since they only try to flame an issue, not interested in anything not far-far left, gotta expect their liberal spin and misrepresentation even in their titles.

The definition is " to voice disapproval to; reproach in a usually mild and constructive manner." I dislike him intensely but think he may have a valid point in this instance.

If okay with you, I would like to add my thooghts to your post. I agree with the general principal about his valid points. I, too, think HuffPo put that in the heading just to try and incite. If someone were to trace back the story with Thomas (around the time the arguments were being presented), it had to do with the fact that he was/has been very quiet from the bench, asking very few questions of those appearing before him. I thought it was respectful of him as a judge to grant the entire time to the attorneys to argue their points, as they are "on the clock" with the SC. As an after thought, I would just like to add, from one poster to another, I appreciate how politely you stated your difference of opinion to the OP. That so seldom occurs on this board...LOL. Hope to see more of your posts, as I personally think they add to the class of the discussion..thank you!
better to stay silent than to speak - removing all doubt

As of March 20, 2012 (2012-03-20)[update], he had not asked a question from the bench in 6 years
rather interesting he chose to speak now?
To be fair, he was responding to a question during. - sm

a question and answer session after appearing and speaking at a university. I think he should have been silent until after the decision is reached. No comment would have been appropriate. Why now?
I'm sure his wife went over the script with him - sm

many, MANY times, and delivered by the GOP. What a ditzy blonde she is.
The SCOTUS has been making more and more, practically speaking, decisions that remove their voices from the law and instead use personal politics, to rule the land, corporations and politicians.
I'd personally like to know how many of these Justices are actually suffering from senility. They should NOT be on the bench for life. The SCOTUS we have now needs to be replaced.

Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas--the Good Ol' DaysOct 20, 2010Wow! Surprised this has come back from 1991. My impression back then was that Anita Hill was very level-headed, was consistent and detailed with her story, even though the questioning went on and on and was quite brutal. Even though I believe he exhibited disgusting behavior, he was still confirmed as a Supreme Court Judge. What do you think would happen today if it was a similar situation? ...

Clarence Thomas Is Conspicuously Absent In New Black HistoryOct 05, 2016Justice Clarence Thomas, the second black man to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, is practically absent from the new National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Anita Hill, the woman who accused Thomas of sexual harassment, however, is given prominent billing in the museum.

Coburn Jokes About Shooting Senate Colleagues.Aug 18, 2011As a matter of fact, even though this was allegedly a "joke," other GOP goons did'nt quite get it. Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert drafted legislation to allow members of Congress to carry concealed weapons in the District of Columbia - including in the Capitol itself. DC law bars individuals from carrying concealed weapons for self-defense. Betcha Gabby Giffords never could imagine after all she has been through to get herself back to work, that she would be ...
Reuven Rivlin (Israeli President) Chides Benjamin Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister)Mar 27, 2015For those unaware, Israel has both a Prime Minister and a President. The PM is the head honcho, but the President has lesser (but exclusive) powers. Though both are members of the Likud party (conservative), President Rivlin is often considered "centre-right", while Netanyahu is considered "far right."
(Think someone like John McCain or Mitt Romney vs. someone like Ted Cruz.)
Just to refresh memories, in the article below, Israeli President Rivlin is referring to this statement Ne ...

The Words Of Thomas JeffersonJun 21, 2012The property of this country is absolutely concentered in a very few hands, having revenues of from half a million of guineas a year downwards. These employ the flower of the country as servants, some of them having as many as 200 domestics, not labouring. They employ also a great number of manufacturers, and tradesmen, and lastly the class of labouring husbandmen. But after all these comes the most numerous of all the classes, that is, the poor who cannot find work. I asked myself what could be ...
Dean Koontz/Odd Thomas MovieJan 16, 2013Spinoff of a thread in Politics. Does anyone read Dean Koontz? I *loved* him in the 80s, and even though he's become kind of formulaic, I still have a soft spot for him. I especially love the Odd Thomas series and I'm stoked about the upcoming movie. The casting is kind of (forgive me) odd, (Patton Oswalt as Big Ozzie? mmmkay) but I'm still shamelessly looking forward to it. I'd love to have seen James McAvoy as Odd, but I guess he's too old. ...
