When I saw your headline I assumed someone had done something illegal.

But really it's much more boring than that...

Former Obama administration green czar Van Jones took to Twitter on Monday to tout his arrest for a courthouse protest against Big Coal, the arrest he asked police to make.

The Blaze said it wasnt clear if Mr. Jones was charged with a crime. Police did oblige, however, and take him into custody. He was released a short time later and resumed his social media messaging.

If it were going to make a big enough impact to actually help his cause it might be justified, but this does just seem like a publicity stunt.

I certainly hope you don't think that 1500 Americans engaging in peaceful assembly "to draw attention to a Patriot Coal case regarding the health care benefits of 10,000 retired miners" is a waste of time.

This is really heartland America stuff you are posting about. Not that we would have picked that up from the link you supplied. In fact, it was rather difficult to research this story due to numerous viral postings that didn't even include the location of the demonstration, preferring to focus on Jones's arrest.

"A motion by Patriot Coal to cut health benefits for 10,000 retired miners was heard Monday in a federal bankruptcy court in St. Louis.

I was under the impression that this was one man demonstrating, not a whole group of over a thousand people. That's a rather large demonstration and I'm surprised there wasn't more coverage.

This story was surprisingly difficult hard to research. I note that right-wing spin sites tend to omit salient details about stories, which makes research challenging.

I think it's pitiful that Glenn Beck et al prefer to highlight the arrest of Van Jones when they ought to be talking about big coal and big banks failing to meet their obligations to 10,000 retired miners. This is a heartland America issue.

I just heard that today Obama signed the Tribal Law and Order Act.
