Aetna pulling out of the exchanges AND the insurance policies

Posted: May 11, 2017

in Nebraska and Delaware in 2018. Another one bites the dust.

Will there be any health insurance left before they get the new insurance rules? The Senate is making up their own policy. Wonder how long that will take. Then they want to send it to committee. That could take a couple years.

Some states don't have any Obamacare anymore, yet Obama is still proud of his "legacy" of health care? Don't think so.

Maybe if everybody had played by the rules - there wouldn't be this problem

Do you think their plan is going to be better?

Dishonest companies - Aetna/Humana merger

[ In Reply To ..]
Aetna claimed this summer that it was pulling out of all but four of the 15 states where it was providing Obamacare individual insurance because of a business decision — it was simply losing too much money on the Obamacare exchanges.

Now a federal judge has ruled that that was a rank falsehood. In fact, says Judge John D. Bates, Aetna made its decision at least partially in response to a federal antitrust lawsuit blocking its proposed $34-billion merger with Humana. Aetna threatened federal officials with the pullout before the lawsuit was filed, and followed through on its threat once it was filed.

Things would have been better. Yes...I think their plan will work far better. Obamacare nothing but a socialist move by a fascist to screw the American public. Ask Gruber about the lies...oh, the lefties so easily forget the mess they created.

They lost over 1 billion dollars in just a few years and are - about to go bankrupt.

everything under the sun. They thought it was great and they were going to save money.

It's hard to feel sorry for Aetna when their CEO makes 30 million a year.

Obamacare is imploding. We call it Zerocare for a good reason.

Worked many years for the home office of an insurance companies. #1 rule for all insurance companies ... "Listen to the actuaries." If the actuaries in any one of these companies see a no-win situation, they will advise that company to pull out of a particular market ... been that way for decades.

States Decline To Set Up Exchanges For Insurance,Nov 18, 2012
Georgia, Ohio and Wisconsin joined more than a dozen other states on Friday in saying they would not establish health insuranceexchanges, while a handful of other states said they would take advantage of an extra month allowed by the Obama administration to make decisions.    The exchanges — online markets where consumers can shop for private insurance subsidized by the federal government — are a centerpiece of President Obama’s health care law. &n ...

On Obamacare Insurance Companies Pulling OutJun 22, 2017
Obamacare allows people to wait until they get sick to sign up. That's no different than waiting until my house burns down to sign up for homeowners insurance or waiting until I wreck my car to get car insurance.I understand that there are a lot of people who don't own a house or a car and maybe are unfamiliar with how insurance works.  It is "insurance" which means insuring against what might happen. Allowing people to wait until they are sick means the insurance company is basic ...

I don't happen to think the new healthcare exchanges are political, happen to believe they belong on the health issues board because they will affect all of us. It also explains the meaning of the "10 essential benefits" insurers need to provide to qualify for Obamacare. It doesn't matter if your premiums go up a little or down, what matters to me is I get co-p ...

How To Make Money With Carbon Exchanges LikeMar 29, 2017
Register your company as a "member firm" on the carbon exchange. Do nothing. Produce nothing. Over the course of time, you will accumulate carbon "credits" because your company is not using energy or polluting the environment. You can then turn and sell your carbon credits to other companies that are polluting the environment, e.g. factories, airlines, automakers. Contact those "polluting" companies and shame them into buying your carbon credits at a premium, or a "discount" depending on how ...

Obama Pulling Ahead In Arizona. Does This Mean The GOPOct 14, 2012
Not to make too much of it now, as you can see from below, but Obama COULD win Arizona now and what about the future? Over half of our Hispanics are strongly conservative. Will GOP leaders finally bite the bitter bullet and start embracing "those" and their growing demographic if they want to keep winning elections in future? And how much of its base will that cost them? (In any case, I predict a new admiration for Mexican tile backslashes...some day. :) For now, we've already seen ...

The Real Reason Insurers Are Canceling PoliciesNov 20, 2013
A few years ago, when talking to the insurance coordinator person at my MTSO, I remember a comment she made about the new (yearly the insurance changed to either a new company or new, worse coverage that cost more) high deductible plan. She said, "It is so employees will be more invested in their care." At that point the high deductible policy was a new choice which luckily was not costing too much less than the other more comprehensive one. Now there would be few who could pay the premiums fo ...
