Would anyone with carpal tunnel please describe it?

I would like to know the difference between just plain fatigue and real carpal tunnel syndrome? Is it specific to one place, or throughout the entire forearm? Is it sharp or dull? Does it happen as soon as you start typing or only after a long period? Thank you anyone. Any information is appreciated. ;

I think I have it in my left wrist. I have not been to the doctor yet, but my husband had it and had surgery. That took of his problem. Mine is my thumb,first and second fingers numb. It is hard for me to turn the pages with my left fingers. I have worn splints, not helped much at all for me. Fingers will tingle. Sometimes at night I wake up with my whole hand numb. Mine does not have any pain yet. I have it regardless of whether I am typing or not. The numbness is very very irritating and getting on my nerves. I have looked on Google and it states it basically comes from the C2 disk in neck. I have done those hand exercises. They did not help me to open up the carpal tunnel at all. I do not have any insurance so I just live with it.

It hasn't been too bad for me lately, but I had a stretch there a few months ago, a job that involved my hands a lot - and it was pretty bad.

You wake up at night and you literally have NO sensation in your hand at all - you have to just very carefully wiggle your fingers a little bit, change position that you are sleeping in, and get the sensation back in your hand. Sensation AND movement both.

For some reason my left hand is the problem, and not my right hand (although I can have it in both hands). I have not been using my hands much lately for "heavy" work - shoveling snow - mowing the lawn and too much typing can bring it on. So I definitely have to be careful. Also any kind of yoga where you have to clasp with your hands and stretch - absolutely no, can't do it or I will have hand numbness at night.

sometimes you have to shake your hand to get rid of the numbness & tingling. Needle poking sensation, too

have symptoms, again, of carpal tunnel, but also have cubital symptoms..Was just curious about recovery time, etc.. Typing with these stupid splints on is next to impossible. And is it covered under workmans comp? ...

I purchased an arm splint on Amazon.com, but didn't like how it felt and so don't use it. Instead, I go to YouTube and type "carpal tunnel syndrome stretches" or "yoga exercises carpal tunnel syndrome" and there are some effective exercises in effect brief videos, some by physical therapists. "Top 3 Exercises For Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" is one that I particularly like. I do some exercise every day or every other day and it counteracts any pain in my right arm. ...

I had an EMG study a couple of years ago and was told I had mild carpal tunnel in both wrists. Well, Ive been working two jobs for a while now and it has gotten way worse. My hands go numb and have to shake them out every so often to get the feeling back and get rid of the tingling. Can anyone out there recommend a wrist support that actually works while you type? I don't mind if it's a little expensive, I just need it to allow me to type while giving my wrists the support it desperately needs. I use one while I sleep but it's too constricting to type with. Okay...going to take some ibuprofen now for this pain:) ...

Hello all, I have a question for those of you who have had carpal tunnel release surgery. I went to the neurologist today and had EMG and nerve conduction studies on both of my hands. My right hand middle fingertip is quite numb. The test showed moderate CTS on my right and a little milder on the left. it really scares me because of the constant numbness in my middle finger. Just wondering if anyone out there has any good tricks for either of these to help on the job? I currently have a pillow under the arm that has cubital tunnel and wear wrist splints bilaterally at night for the carpal tunnel, but am having a harder time lately with hand strength and getting my fingers to move right consistently, plus am dropping things more. Well I really did it this time, I kept resting my left arm on my chair while typing or just on facebook, it was a habit, now for week I have had numbness in my pinkie finger and part of my ring finger and part of my palm. I cannot use my pinkie to type, its too uncomfortable. I do not know of such a word to describe how low and at what lengths she will go with her lies. The answer Greg is yes, she does think everyone is stupid.
