Wanting to help a cousin....

I have a cousin who's mid 40s. He's been a high-end IT person in the past, but without a degree he's being turned down a lot right now. He has some diabetic issues and can't do a job standing really, so he's wanting to possibly work from home. He's tried the Direct TV positions mentioned on this site before. Does anyone have any other suggestions for working at home?? I'm just not sure of too many companies doing customer service, etc., from home. Many thanks!!!

he might find a position with a company like Dell or Apple. They hire Americans to handle telephone and internet sales. They provide training for their at-home sales force and offer benefits, too. Dell also has a US help desk for their business customers, and I believe those folks work from home as well. If he is able to get around at all, stores like Staples employ computer-savvy folks to help customers purchase and set up new computers. They work in the stores, but the work isn't very strenuous, so he might be able to do that.

What would be entailed - In obtaining the degree?

If earning his degree is only a few credits away, then maybe he could go for it. If it's a big huge deal, then maybe not even worth it since a lot of IT is offshored to India, including our techs at the MTSOs. If his work experience is such that it's completely outdated, he may need to rethink the IT thing and/or revamp it a bit.

He probably needs to sell, sell, sell himself.

I recently had computer problems and called a tech service that remoted into my computer and fixed the issues with my computer. I know that many of these types of people work from their homes.

My cousin had his fingers fixed and didn't have to be under anesthesia so long. However, now we find that he has a fracture in back of his other leg. My cousin was hit by a train today (not in a car). He is 21. I am not sure of the exact story but he has a broken leg, arm and maybe internal injuries. Please pray for my cousin. She woke up at 2 a.m. and thought she had heartburn. Took one of her husband's pills but the pain never went away. They found a 4 cm aneurysm on the right side of her heart. Not quite sure what they meant by that, but they have taken her to a heart hospital in Indianapolis for further testing and care. Cousin to have the other leg operated on today. It is his femur and they will put him on his stomach for that. He is still having much pain, but he wished his mother Happy Birthday which meant a lot to her. He doesn't stay awake long though. Please pray for him. This leg has a worse chance to have infection. I was wondering if anyone here has U-verse with AT&T and if so have you had any problems with it.
