I had an AWESOME weekend!

I do hand-stamped jewelry and did a show this past weekend and it was my highest sales ever!!! My intake equaled three weeks of transcribing work. I wish I was brave enough to give up MT work and do jewelry only; but between December and May there are very few shows in my area.

Maybe you could find someone to help you design a web page and sell your jewelry over the net. I also have a craft that I would like to sell but it is seasonal. If I have a web page, I could advertise to people in other parts of the country where it is warmer. You should check into this. Many people order things over the internet.

...is etsy.com. I go there to browse and drool over all of the neat things at least once a week. Not sure how you get started w/ them, but just a suggestion. Good luck! Used to love to do crafts, but just haven't had much time lately due to my lovely job.

Great post I am showing my husband, as I wish to get into jewelry sculpting. Can you tell me more? I am working 7 accounts, and after overhead expenses, there is nothing left.

is not to go out and buy a truckload of merchandise, or crafting supplies, or paint, or whatever you use. I plan to make ONE item at a time, make it well, and make it BEAUTIFUL, and sell it. Then on to the next, and the next.

Some people make just a few ready-made items to show on their sale-website of choice, and then take custom orders. You see that a lot on Etsy.

I think the hard part is coming up with a fair price. Some things I see are way overpriced, others seem to be underpriced (often in other countries).

It's hard for me to set a price based on what I, myself, would pay for it, since my view of money and value is rather skewed by having been a working-poor MT for so many years! (I view a dollar bill the way most people view $20!)

Question about making jewelry - just wondering

This is for anyone who is into this craft...when you make your pieces, is it your own ideas. How do you know what to make? Are there patterns that you follow (okay, I'm a quilter and follow patterns), or do you look at all your materials on hand and just start putting things together and know what you want to create.

We are taking a week's vacation at the beach with our children and grandchildren in June. We split the cost of a beach house. I can not believe my baby is graduating high school. This May my two boys turned 18 and 21 and now in September they will both be in community college.
