Why own when you can rent! Save on property taxes at least, lol...

A mortgage payment may be, say, $650/mo. Then, there's $100/mo set aside for maintenance and another $100/mo set aside for taxes and HOA fees.

The rent payment for this house would be at least $1000/mo. The owner has to make some profit, too, after all.

and who pays a $650 mortgage?? WOW wish i did, mine is $813 but that does include property taxes in my escrow.

These are dream rental properties, just meant as a fun daydream vacation.

The very first house is "a 25,000-acre estate on Mexico’s Pacific Coast". I highly doubt the mortgage is $650.

While a wise landlord would factor taxes, insurance, maintenance, and mortgage into their rental price, the renter is not ultimately responsible if those payments don't get made.

Also, sometimes the rental price will not cover all expenses, based on the current rental market. The landlord will needs to cover the cost, even if it comes out-of-pocket; therefore, renters can come out ahead.
