Has anyone ever registered products they bought? I just bought a food processor and there is a card to send in to register it. Does anyone know why you would register a product.
;If there is a recall or problem with a product you have registered, you are notified directly by the company with instructions on how to get a replacement or refund, or what action to take.
When you have that official notification, not only do you know about it (whereas you might not ever find out otherwise) but reparation will be quicker and easier than without it.
This happened to me with a food processer back in the 80s. Turns out there was a defective blade screw or some such, they sent me a postcard informing me, and all I had to do was take that card and the product to any store that sold that product and get a replacement or refund.
I'm sure that registering a product gets you put on other mailing lists, but that doesn't bother me. It is simple enough to shred one more junk mailing.
