Balance ball

Does anyone use a balance ball to sit on while working? I was curious about it and wondering if you can still use the foot pedal and type without making everything harder. ;

I tried this a couple months ago because it is supposedly good for your posture and strengthening core muscles. It was more comfortable than I thought, it definitely made me sit up straighter, and I found it helped keep me awake as well. I didn't have any trouble with using the foot pedal. However, my keyboard tray is not adjustable and the ball wasn't either :-( I finally went back to my chair just for that reason, but I still use the ball as a chair at other times, such as watching TV.

I wanted to stay in shape and be as flexible as I could for birth. I could only type for an hour per shift with it though, as it was just too small for my particular setup. Looked like it was a good height inflated, but with my fat arse sitting on it, I smooshed it right down.

Other than the height issue, it was totally enjoyable and if they ever make one big enough to fit my desk, I'd totally do it again, even for just short stints at a time, as it really is fun and you can kinda bee-bop around on it a bit while you work.

size ball. It you are tall, you might want to go up to the next size. I got mine through my chiropractor and when comparing mine to the ball my sister bought at Wal-Mart - mine was a lot sturdier. Congrats on the new little one...girl or boy??
My niece's OB-GYN had her patient's bring their exercise ball to the hospital to sit and roll around on the ball during labor as she said it encouraged the baby to drop.

that sounds awesome and since I can never get my chair to fit under my desk just right..that may be the answer and keep me in shape as well. I might try it. Thanks!

problems I used my ball out of desperation. I would jam my non-pedal foot against the ball and then roll it ball slightly forward which made it pretty sturdy. I would love to have a ball chair.

I have a credit card that I owe quite a bit on. I asked for a drop in the percentage rate so hopefully could pay it off faster and was told no, I already had the lowest rate they gave out. I then decided to switch CC and go with one that offered 0% for 17 months. The foot I use on the foot pedal is slightly swollen and the ball of the foot is so sore I'm limping. It helps to wear shoes with padding. I do have periphera neuropathy from spinal stenosis which I think causes me to hold my toes in a different position because I can't feel the floor with the front part of my foot. The big toe curls to try to feel the floor. Not sure if this is the cause or what this is. Anyone else have this? ...

drunk and unbearably obnoxious. When he is sober, he is a complete ass. So add alcohol to that and it's awful. He is loud, overly animated (throwing himself back in the bleachers, banging his fist on the bleachers, etc), arguing with umps, criticizing the coach, and making snide comments about other players. I don't/won't sit anywhere near him, but I feel awful that the other parents are having to put up with him and I feel sick that my daughter has to suff ...
