Granted, the patient came in for female issues. This just made me laugh.

Dictated: I counseled her to stop smoking for general health purposes.

VR typed: I counseled her to stop smoking from her vaginal vault

Sometimes it comes with such incredibly inappropriate mistakes!

I wonder sometimes what the reaction would be if the MT/ME didn't catch and correct that; it didn't go to QA and went directly to the hospital, where it's common for some doctors not to read the report before they sign it; and then someday the patient requests copies of their medical records. I'd like to see the patient's reaction and also the doctor's reaction when contacted about it!

You really do get what you pay for sometimes.

I have Vonage with the neat little feature where your voicemail is transcribed for you and emailed to you. Like VR for your voicemail. My name is Lori and every time I get a voicemail email it translates me name as "Lord." So every day I get all these messages that "Hi Lord, this is...." Talk about an ego boost! ...
