Hugs for you as you process the loss of your sweet fur baby. As you know, each day gets a little easier than that horrendous first day. I know how trite that sounds. I may very well take back what I said about Sammy's toys, which were all little stuffed animals. After I washed them, I put them out sitting in a chair on the patio to dry in the sun, and they do look cute sitting there. When I see them, I get a little lump in my throat, but maybe I will keep them indefinitely. There are just so many habits and routines I have made through the years and now I have no need for those habits. It's going to take a long time before I have adjusted. For example, if I go for a tasty snack in the kitchen, there is no need for feeling a pang of guilt for not sharing it with my Sammy. Oh how he loved junk food! Just countless things like this throughout the day...
