I lost my little dog almost a year ago after being a happy wiggly shadow at my feet and on my lap for 14 years. Allow yourself the tears, as there will be many. It will get better with time however the time frame is not set in stone.... I was very unhappy, missing the joy that little creature gave me for 9 months. Am able to handle the grief better, focusing on his life, not his death now. Initially I needed to put his toys away but now I am glad I held onto a few keepsakes. Thinking of you dear one during this difficult time.
