And? - good for them

Just pointing out that if you are on your own, getting and keeping a 401K due to the changing dynamics of our workforce is becoming very very difficult.

My brother has a great 401K that he has been building for years. I don't begrudge him or anyone that.

I just feel like we have come to a time where that is not available to many people anymore or maybe it never was to some, and that is for political reasons in that the deregulation of the workforce means all of the things that used to come with a job are no longer there such as 401K, sick leave, and health insurance.

I don't think you can argue with that, and I have no argument with people who have 401Ks, through their husband or whatever.

I don't, however, and that doesn't make me dumb or a "bad investor" - it just means it is a shaky time for many in terms of job security, benefits, etc.

The gig economy is really really bad for workers and really really good for corporations, and many of us have been forced into it unwillingly.
