Never considered myself an "investor" but I guess technically...
I never would have had a 401K (like most Americans) if I hadn't had a proper employee job. These jobs are becoming extinct with the "gig" economy (read corporations deciding they don't want employees anymore because they cost too much).
If your 401K is not connected to your job, you are on a whole nother level than I ever was.
Good luck to you, but I do NOT think you are in the majority of most MTs or for that matter Uber drivers or for that matter delivery workers, etc.
We have been cut loose from decent jobs as employees (time was when you were IC you made more - but no longer) and 401Ks and other benefits of that. I started late with the 401K so could not sustain it with getting terminated and now this COVID.
Good luck to anyone who can, but really no need to talk down to me, I get it.
You can never know someone else's story, but I do know that a lot of people are like MTs, where they have no proper employee jobs anymore, and COVID, if anything, has made this worse.
