Thank you all. You have all been very helpful.
All your answers will help me. No 2 conversations we have are exactly the same, but it's always the same theme, if you will. I now have suggestions on how to respond to her concerns. A large part of my "job" requires answering questions or handling situations "on the fly." This is just one of my more challenging ones.
Fortunately, I have very supportive supervisors and they are very responsive to any of my concerns. They have a lot of experience in these matters, which is why I informed them of the situation. They can determine if she could benefit from one of the volunteer chaplains.
This woman does have very good family support and friend support, so I don't feel all alone in this.
