Using Microwave Since Mid 80s - see msg Posted: Nov 9th, 2018 - 2:09 pm In Reply to: Microwave question - sm
I bought my first microwave in 1986 and have since bought a few more. I am still alive with no health problems. FYI: Cooking by conventional methods also changes molecules, so the one poster's "molecular structure" panic using a microwave is unfounded.
One thing to note: Raw meat COOKED in the microwave ends up kind of tough. The microwave is better for heating things up that are already cooked, but do be careful about not over-heating.
Raw vegetables fare fine. You can bake a potato in 7-8 minutes in plastic wrap, and it's just as good as it would be if cooked in the oven. You can steam veggies in a flash.
