Eventually, like anything, they do break down. There are lots of brands and types out there, but I just have a very basic one with a turntable and about 1100 watts of power. Depends on what you want to use it for? But at least 1100-1200 watts will be enough for anything you want to cook. Get a turntable too because that will also help things cook more evenly. Don't forget about making sure it will fit in the space you want to put it in. Have fun!
