I understand that also, but I guess people - could move out of California

if they don't like it or buy an existing home. California has been trying to go "green" for as long as I can remember. I think it is wonderful.

I had a well and our well water was horrible. City water came around and people had to pay for it to go across the road but not forced to have it piped to their house. Ours was $8,000 to get it thanks to a program by the Obama administration instead of $12,000. We also got a 40-year low interest loan through the government to pay for it. I pay about $250 a year towards that (the exact figure escapes my mind at the moment), but when the whole township has pretty much bad wells and is faced with that or digging a new deeper well for around $15,000. it was definitely worth it for us. My neighbor didn't pipe into it because they had just paid $15,000 for a new well, but that is their choice.
