Indiana voter fraud investigation underway after names changed

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Thousands of birth dates and names listed on Indiana voter registrations were changed, officials said Tuesday, prompting an investigation into possible voter fraud. Hoosiers reported finding the incorrect information when verifying their voter registration, according to Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson. “These records were changed on paper forms, at the DMV and online,” Lawson said in a statement. “At this time, my office is not sure why these records were changed, but we have evaluated the Statewide Voter Registration System and have found no indication it has been compromised.” Voters who encountered the issue had cast a ballot in the primary election, Lawson said. Altered voter information may cause some Indiana residents to not be able to find their registration. Click here to confirm your voter registration.
