a little good news

Jason Chaffetz will be "returning to the private sector" in 2018.  Jon Ossoff handily made it into the runoff against the woman who was fired from the Susan Komen Foundation.  Democrat James Thompson lost by about 5 points in Kansas, one of the reddest states in the country (home of the Koch Bros).  Come on millenials, time to paint the red states purple! It is long past time for the senile old white men who "run" this country to pass the torch to younger blood. So many things to fix in this country and it can't be accomplished by doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, much less returning the country to the dark ages, or subscribing to this "trickle down" doctrine anymore. Let's see, giving more money to the rich people didn't work so . . . let's give more money to the rich people.  I could go on and on but I will get off my soapbox now.

A loss is a loss is a loss no matter how - you spin it. #2 is #2

Ask Hillary.

DNC and Hollywood are pouring vasts amount of money into - these races. Like the one in Georgia

[ In Reply To ..]
with Ossoff. He doesn't even live in Georgia. He uses his girlfriend's address.

I guess if you dump enough money into Georgia you can turn it blue. Still fell short this time.

and the pubs and their groups are pouring a lot of - of money into these elections too

[ In Reply To ..]
So, what's the point? That is what they all do.

As far as not living in Georgia, that's not true. He doesn't live in his district, it's not a law to live in the district, just the state and other members of congress don't live in their district. The election came up quickly and he wasn't prepared to move that quickly but plans on moving back to the district when his girlfriend graduates medical school.

He came a point and a half short of the 50% needed out of several candidates so don't count him out when the runoff comes and there are only two candidates.

Yeah, he lives in Georgia, just not in - the district he is running for

[ In Reply To ..]
which is allowed. He explained this. He lives with his girlfriend who is finishing medical school 10 minutes or so away and they have plans to move back into the district when she is finished with school. His family still lives there and as long as he still lives in the state he is allowed to run for Congress. Many other congressmen in other states don't live in their exact district, but do live in the state they represent.

I read that he lives in GA BUT not in the district he was running in - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
He supposedly lives 10 miles outside that district. In my state, you don't live in the district, you can't run in the district.

i have to laugh at how they're sayins Ossoff "handily" made itinto the runooff - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
He made it into a RUNOFF because he didn't WIN. The only reason he mde it to the runoff is because there were 11 Republicans running on the ticket which took votes away from all candidates. Dejavue Republcian presidential campaign. I really don't consider Ossoff winning, not with less than 50%. If he would have had 50%, there wouldn't be a runoff. After over $8 MILLION being poured into his campaign by outsiders, I consider it a loss. We shall see what happens in the runoff - one against one.

As for Jason Chaffetz...he was one of the honest good guys. He didn't spend millions flying back and forth evry weekend nor did he spend millions on hotels or apartments to be in D.C. I'm saddened to see him leave. But, I agree that family comes first and I can see his point. I don't blame his family for not wanting to move to D.C. either. Chaffetz was "one of the younger blood."

As for Thompson v. Estes, this is the truth according to a Kansas paper(my emphasis is in caps:

Sedgwick County finishes its vote counting and becomes the ONLY county carried by Democrat James Thompson. Thompson led by 414 over Republican Ron Estes, WHO CARRIED THE OTHER 16 COUNTIES. Overall, Estes had 53% v.45% for Thompson. That's more than 5 points.

So maybe the Dems should't jump or joy for Estes either.

Mike Huckabee I told you recently about a poll that found that Congress’ approval rating was lower than that of cockroaches. Well, maybe this will help Congress pull slightly ahead of the bugs. It would put lawmakers’ paychecks on hold starting on April 15th – tax day. Their pay would g ...

Right wingnuts going the way of the dinosaur perhaps?  It's high time . . .
