Prayer request

Two years ago, February 28/March 1 at 4:01 a.m. my life took a major dive. I was awakened to my neighbor pounding on my door, yelling "FIRE!" My fiance and I had minutes to get out of the building. We lost all our possessions. I can't tell you how hard it was to watch everything you own go up. I lost family menento's that can never be replaced. The neighbor who started the fire laughs about it to this day stating, "I lost my pot and my bongs." Never an apology. Hoping that some day he will grow up and reallize the jeopardy he put people's lives in that morning. It has been hard the last 2 years. Missing some of the things I lost that can never be replaced. All my pictures. The family bible dating back to the early 1800s.

After the fire, we were victimized twice by vandals going into the building and stealing from us. I lost jewelry and some collectibles. Who steals from someone that has just lost everything?

You didnt say if you moved back into your apartment again because you said your neighbor laughs about losing his pot and bongs, are you saying his stuff went up in flames as well? And why isnt he in jail? I pray for you that you get out of that building and find a safe place to live. Please start looking elsewhere I pray for that and I pray that your pyromaniac neighbor goes to jail.

I had a friend who had a business selling glassware & collectibles. Her son, who was an alcoholic, was sleeping at her store & fell asleep while smoking. He died in the resultant fire. Some of the volunteer firemen were caught stealing some of the glassware (Fenton, etc.) People never cease to amaze me. Again, sorry for your situation.

I am so sorry for your terrible hardships. Suffering as a result of injustices is the hardest. But have you considered Job's story and the lesson he learned as a result of his unearned tragedies, as well as the boons he received after learning this lesson? Also, may I suggest that you read Romans 5:3-5 to learn the potential boons that suffering but still staying close to God can produce? And also see 1Peter 2:19-20 to learn the special boon of suffering unjust hardships while still staying close to God.

I am praying with love that you can stay close to God as you recover from your catastrophies.

I lost everything but 2 pair of jeans, a few shirts and some underclothes. Also 2 years ago, and also in March (March 2nd!).

It was so hard to face the fact that I would never see my old photographs again, never hold the baseball glove my dad gave me when I was 10. It was also awful to try to get the paperwork of my life replaced. My passport, my birth certificate...it felt like putting my life back together would never be completely finished. I still haven't finished and I never will. My life will never be the same.

But it's okay, because in the ways that are truly important, my life is better now. I will always miss some of the things I lost, but I am okay with it now. It's a part of my past that can't come back, and as I work now to build my future, I am filling it with new things, things that also hold special meanings. But I have also learned that nothing is permanent. Everything can disappear. And I'm okay with that now.

You probably have a lot of sadness, anger, confusion, not to mention the logistical nightmare this must have caused in terms of a place to live, personal necessities, resuming work and a normal schedule, etc. I'm so sorry for all that you and your fiance lost and are still going through.

I pray that God heals you and your fiance and blesses you by filling your lives with love, peace, and joy.

I would like for people on this board to pray with me concerning my job. I am a "Nana" to 6 grandchildren who have no support from their fathers, so I really have a high budget. Hello, I am having some health issues with my gallbladder, or so it seems. I don't have health insurance as it is not offered through my job. I can't afford to have anything done. I have some unknown neurologic condition. I now have no reflexes eliictable in my lower legs, my head is numb and I have copious fluid pooling in my mouth. Is it possible for women to please sit down on the toilet seat in a public restroom???
