war on poverty

Posted: Aug 27, 2012

If these politicians and supporters are interested in cutting poverty in the US. did you ever stop to consider how much could have been done if the multi millions given to pollitical campaigns for their own interest would have been donated to charity?   The same goes for contributions to those in other countries.  We need to help our own first.   The 100 million contribution from the biggest jerk who has never given a thought to helping anyone that is poor, that works for him, etc.   Why do we support theses guys with their huge appetites for luxury?

Recent reports suggest that almost 50% of Americans are in poverty or at a "low income" level. It has been defined as earnings between 100 and 199 percent of the poverty level, a claim which, if true, would place every American family making $50,000 or less at a near-poverty le ...

MTs Who Work Full Time And Still Live In Poverty...Feb 25, 2015
I was hoping to get everyone's thoughts (no matter what party you support) regarding this issue. So many of us MTs have worked (and may continue to still be working) full time and made very little money. I don't know if we could even consider ourselves middle class on the poverty wages we MTs have earned for many, many years. I listened to U.S. Senator Elizabeth's Warren's message about helping the middle class. Would any of you please weigh in with your opinions about what c ...

$22 Trillion Spent In 50-year "war On Poverty" Since Johnson.Apr 28, 2015
Drive through the slums of any major city in America, and it isn't very likely that you'll be looking at communities where the electorate is predominantly conservative, nor will these likely be found in districts that elect conservatives to office.  You'll be looking at minority districts that have been failed NOT by conservative principles, but by years and decades of failed liberal policies and incompetent liberal political bosses. Then, look at the school districts in po ...
