WI protestors dragged from capital

Posted: Mar 10, 2011

Scroll down past the Hannity video and you will see it. I'm not thrilled to post a Huff article, but I couldn't find it on YouTube, even though it shows the TM on the video.

I understand the protestors "stormed" the capital, crawling in through windows to get inside. These protestors are no longer school teachers. Who are they? BTW, Trumka is totally wrong in his speech. He and Jesse Jackson are just whipping up the crowds. Someone is going to get hurt yet.

You've got decent people on both sides and then you have some crazies - I hope nobody gets hurt

That's why the discussion and debate part is so important, so things like this don't get out of hand and bring out the crazies. I'll guarantee you that those crazies come out no matter what the topic and regardless of which party is doing what. Crazies are just...well, crazy!

they are professional protestors - it's what they do all year long

They show up a lot at places like the G20 Summit and other hot targets. The one who went after Rand Paul during the campaign was a protester who travels around for different causes. Her name is Lauren Valle, and she describes herself as a "Professional Provocateur." LOL

The video I saw reminded me of the movie, "101 Dalmatians" when the puppies escaped out of the house through the hole in the wall.

Here's a definition from Urban Dictionary: LOL

professional protester
Any unemployed, fanatically Liberal protester, who spends an inordinate amount of time protesting the Republican wing. Often protests so frequently, they lose track of what they are actually protesting. Usually falls within the age range of 18-35. Descriptions include bad dye jobs, nasty facial piercings, and copious amounts of tacky tattoos. While adopting a "hippy-ish" style dresscode, and associated hygiene practices.
"Berkeley University in California, produces the highest number of professional protesters, in all United States."

hehe funny. Time to move on to the next state - WI MT

Ohio? NJ? Florida? This was just a start- the unions took a huge blow today. How will they ever make it in Wisconsin if membership is not mandatory? Seriously, it is time for the protestors to leave and go trash someone else's state, preferably their own.

So they really did bust the unions after all - nm

the unions are still there - WI MT

The unions can still negotiate for everything else except for wages above the CPI, that needs to go to the voters. WE as taxpayers get to decide if these people deserve a 5% or 10% or 20% raise, the union doesn't get to demand it any longer. Membership in unions is not mandatory, the actual members get to decide if they want to participate. It would seem to me that if the union was so great their members wouldn't have to be forced to be a part of it. Oh and fireman and policeman unions are not included. The unions are still in Wisconsin and still cover 175,000 people. They are not busted. But they don't get to stranglehold the 5 million other taxpayers in the state and they don't get to stranglehold their members. Check out some of the other states producing collective bargaining legislation. Wisconsin is tame compared to others.
Exactly! Thank you Gov. Walker - wimt2

If the unions are so great, they will have no problem keeping their members and collecting their dues, and passing those dues on to the democrats as in the past. I wrote the governor a thank you e-mail today, thanking him for holding his ground actually following through. Unusual for a politician to actually do what he says will do.... feels great.
I did too - WI MT

I also sent an email to my lazy AWOL democrat senator to get back to work now and shame on him for putting 175,000 union members above the 5 million taxpayers.

I am still waiting for someone to answer yet on what was so bad for the unions out of this deal that they threw all this money at Wisconsin when there are other states with more volatile plans. Either the union supporters are greedy and feel the union workers deserve a raise above the CPI every year on the backs of the taxpayers or they are truly afraid that no one will join the union if they are not forced and thus the unions will lose some of their power. Its either money or power, there is no middle ground here, and my bet is on power. The argument about killing rights or killing the middle class will not hold because once again the only collective bargaining taken away was wages above the CPI and policeman and fireman are not included. Union members also make more money than nonunion people so the middle class being killed are the taxpayers. Still waiting.....
Cannot Negotiate - mbmt
[ In Reply To ..]
Public employees in Wisconsin can only negotiate wages and those increases can be no higher than inflation. They cannot, however, negotiate anything else. There is no more collective bargaining for things such as classroom size, workplace rules, disciplinary procedures, etc. Collective bargaining is about more than wages, way more.

...and I remember during the last Prez election... - at the RNC convention...

The protestors are doing nothing but inciting violence and fear.   It was a Trump rally and they did nothing but come there to incite violence.  There is a movement alright and I do not need violent protestors to act like idiots to get their views across, why not have their own rallies to get their views across.  This whole thing is sick, however, Trump no matter if you like him or not feel what he is saying is how we all are feeling.  Free college, t ...

Senator Mobbed By ProtestorsMar 02, 2011
OK, this is getting WAY out of control.  And frightening.  This has got to stop.  Since when do we condone this type of behavior?  This is thuggery 101.  I can just imagine sitting around the dinner table, slicing the meatloaf and then the news comes on.  Little Jimmy:  "Look Mommy!  Daddy's on TV!  Ohhh, he looks angry!"  Nice example for the kids.  What a bunch of twits.  Where is the civility now?  Seriously.  No on ...

Saw Some Casey Anthony Protestors With SignJul 07, 2011
Do you all think that 12 people who got to together to sit in on this case could all be idiots?  I think maybe they didn't deliberate and came to a rash decision based on the fact they had been sequestered for so long and wanted to get home.  Not sure of the idiot status though but they remain in hiding and I think that is a good idea because of the outrage of their decision.  I saw the evidence and heard testimony.  There is no way I could set Casey ...

Healthcare Giant And Bain CapitalAug 17, 2012
Great article about healthcare giant, HCA.  HCA was founded by Thomas Frist Jr., brother of former senator William Frist. It is now owned by three private equity firms, one of which is Bain Capital. In 2010, while the rest of the economy was tanking, the three buyout firms benefited to the tune of 1 billion dollars each. Any thoughts about how this involvement impacts Mr. Romney's approach to healthcare reform?  ...

Two Children Burned After Dakota Access Protestors Set 20 Fires DuringFeb 23, 2017
Two children were burned, one of them severely, at the Dakota Access camp evacuation Wednesday after remaining activists set fire to about 20 shelters and a vehicle in what was described as a departure ceremony. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum said a 17-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital in Minneapolis, and that a seven-year-old boy was also hurt as most of the activists left the camp in compliance with a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers eviction order. Most of those remaining at the camp left ...

US Execution Capital Reconsiders The Death PenaltyDec 06, 2010
New York - On Monday, Dec. 6, a district court in Texas will be asked – for the first time in that U.S. state's history – to decide whether the death penalty is unconstitutional based on the "disproportionately high risk of wrongful convictions" in Texas. John Edward Green, Jr., the defendant in Texas v. Green, is charged in the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old Houston woman during a 2008 robbery. He has not yet been convicted, but prosecutors say they would seek the ...
