The Dream Act - Me

I live in a southwestern state. I met a college-age white woman who was born and raised in Florida. She came to our state to go to the university. She was told she had to pay two full years of out of state tuition. On the other hand, children of illegals can get in-state tuition! How is this fair? Why are we rewarding people for bad behavior? I view the Dream (Nightmare?) Act as another form of affirmative discrimination and hope it does not pass.
I agree. It does not seem fair. - sam

and now, in this economy, when American kids are having a tough time paying those out of state tuitions and have all the same issues those illegals have....why on earth would you even propose doing this at this time?

but then I started reading about the kids who didn't ask to come to this country. They were brought by their illegal parents when they were too young to have a say. So that got me thinking.
I need to read up on the bill itself to see what's really in there. If it gives the illegal parents a pass, then I would be against it. But if it gives the kids that had no say and were too young when they came to this country, I would have to say maybe yes, I might be for it.
It's a hard, and not very easy, decision to make.
Yet, as I read in another post about tuition, that definitely is NOT right. It changes the whole terminology of equal rights.

People should contact their representatives and demand that Dream Act be defeated. Anyone up to age 30 who will simply sign documentation of their plans to attend college (even community college)---no proof, no diploma, just sign the necessary documentation that you PLAN to attend OR take the military option (which obviously will be less chosen) where you sign stating intention to join military. Plus, Dream Act does, indeed, provide for "chain migration" and once the person gains citizenship, he/she can petition to have not only the parents who first broke the law by illegally immigrating but also siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. This is not right and rewards and encourages lawbreaking and flaunting of our immigration laws. Would not be tolerated anywhere else in the world and should not be tolerated here either.

... Dream Come True For Hillary? Trump SupportersMar 20, 2016 I am a Trump supporter because I think the established political system is corrupt. There has been news this morning on cable talk shows there is a good chance Trump will not get the nomination because he needs X amount of delegates even if he is leading in winning popular votes in independent states so there will be a brokered convention in which delegates will decide who will run for president.

Lately, my husband and I have somewhat seriously been talking about opening a mexican food burrito/taco shop. We have great recipes that are relatively simple and inexpensive, and would love to just open up a very small shop that handles only takeout orders for a few types of burritos and/or tacos, rice and beans. Something small with the BEST food around, even though not fancy.
