Since nothing is set in stone, it has to go through

Posted: May 7, 2017

on differences in tax credits by each plan, ACA and ACHA as of what passed in the house.  This is just the tax credit portion.

Where do you fit in?  Will you benefit or be hurt?

;

Since nothing is set in stone, I am not going to - worry about it. Why do others?

If you don't have anything better to do but worry about a health care plan that has not been set in stone, that's kind of sad.

You must be one of the ones who would be - hurt, like most of us.

[ In Reply To ..]
This is what they are proposing and were congratulating themselves on for passing in the House. I did say it wasn't set in stone but asked about this as it stands now.

Honestly, I read numbers and projections and - my eyes glazed over.

[ In Reply To ..]
Kind of like reading polls, what ifs, maybe, etc.

I have no time to read opinions and worry about the outcome, especially since the outcome is unknown.

Have a nice sunny Sunday and don't get tangled in numbers and worry about something you can do nothing about.
To the dislikers of this post above: What did you - dislike about it?
[ In Reply To ..]
You enjoy spending Sunday morning worried about numbers that are nowhere near being "set in stone" - numbers that are so complex you understand them?

Amazing! Sounds like a great way for Trump bashers to spend their time.

I'm out to plant my tomatoes today. Finished my flower bed yesterday. Much more rewarding than reading and interpreting numbers that aren't "set in stone" and worrying about them.
I didn't dislike, but I do worry - about this new plan!

I know nothing is set in stone - which the OP did say at the beginning. Just like you worry when you know you have to buy a new water heater and wonder where the money will come from, people are worried about this. Health coverage is important to people even without preexisting conditions because you never know when you will need it. Everyone thinks about what ifs in their lives and what it will mean to them, so worrying is a part of daily life. The numbers do look extremely different in these graphs and no level seems to end up doing better - which is what was promised. My feeling is now Trump feels like he has met his promise and will forget about it and move onto the next thing and never look back. So yeah, I worry. Of course I still go about my daily life and am not crippled by this worry... yet it is always on my mind.
Worry makes you sick. Then you really need - healthcare. Ulcers, etc.
[ In Reply To ..]
I learned a long time ago that worry is a waste of time and takes a toll on my health. Worry accomplishes nothing but hurts the worrier.

If I thought if I worried enough I could change the course of things I worry about, I might entertain worrying about things like Trump and/or Obama's healthcare plan, nuclear weapon attack by North Korea (or Iran), lots of messes our corrupt political system has gotten us innocent bystander voters into while lying to our face and pointing the finger at the opposition party.

So I go about my life trying to enjoy it and hope I do not need healthcare for any reason, including stomach upset/ulcers caused by worrying.

Well you are lucky - if you don't worry
[ In Reply To ..]
about such things. Like I said, I don't worry enough to get sick from it, but as human beings do, I worry. Have a good day planting your tomatoes!
Mind over matter. Figure out how you - benefit from worry vs what risks from worry
[ In Reply To ..]
Tomatoes are good for your health. Worry is not.

You may want to figure out a solution instead of worrying about things. That would be more productive.

Have a great day and please do not worry about those healthcare cost numbers you have no power over and they could change for the worse or better.
And I'm going out to work on the rest of - my flowers today.
[ In Reply To ..]
Sounds like you are wasting time on here like you criticize everybody else for doing.

This was not about "Trump-bashing." I would think the numbers might get some people busy writing their representatives and letting them know what they think, on both sides or in the middle. No, as I pointed out, this is not set in stone but it is what the House pushed through. There is still hope in the Senate so in between planting flowers I am letting them know that this plan is not acceptable to me. If you do not look at numbers and things that might affect you if they keep this, and you are hurt by it, then you deserve what you get, but unfortunately the rest of us go down too.

You try to convince all of us to brush it off but I for one am very interested in how my healthcare will be affected and I think a majority of us are, and I prefer to stay involved instead of sticking my head in the sand.
I think you're jumping the gun a bit since I think the Senate - Truthhurts

will push and drag their feet on this if Schumer has his way. I thought Dirty Harry was bad but Schumer is the same.

Too bad Congress is so poisoned with partisanship. I long for the days when they worked TOGETHER for the PEOPLE and not for their party or themselves.
You'll have to ask the pubs why they won't - work with the dems,
[ In Reply To ..]
though I think the senate will since the house came up with such a disaster. You criticize Schumer for sticking up for us yet didn't mind the pubs going against everything Obama did whether good or not?

I do agree they should work together but they play games against each other with none of us in mind.
Flashback: Remember all the liberal organizations Obama - gave exemptions to after Obamacare
[ In Reply To ..]
was passed? Immediately after Obamacare was passed, unions wanted exemptions from the very same law that they wanted to force everyone else to obey. This reveals an extreme level of hypocrisy among many of the supporters of Obamacare.

Take your medicine and like it

Becuse the Dems are using scare tactics as usual - Truthhurts

I received an email where they subject was in capital letters: "OBAMACARE IS GONE!" as if there was no more health care in this country for anyone who had Obamacare.

I saw an excerpt from a town hall being hted by Raul Labrador and he told his audience that it's not taking away pre-existing conditions....and everybody started yelling "NO." Why? They probably didn't even read the bill and probably only listened to the Dems. They may even have been some loyal Dems who were there to protest in that way. Who knows?

I'm not worried about it. Obamacare will be around for quite a while with all the steps that have to be taken before it can become law.

Don't forget, it took a year for them to pass Obamacare. it will proably take that long to pass AHCA. It will go through many changes and arguments and amendments and committees and CBO changes....I think there are 3 committees alone that this has to go through once the Senate does their job.

Exactly. Have you seen that list they put out of all (sm) - Olga

[ In Reply To ..]
the conditions that supposedly will not be considered under pre-existing?? It's all LIES, and the leftist idiots are buying it hook, line and sinker. Why aren't the Republicans out there defending the plan and pointing out the lies that are being told? Quite a few people I know are actually believing this garbage!! I guess that's because the MSM is just throwing out crap, 24/7 and the fools buy it without looking further into it. This country really is full of a lot of stupid people.
How do you know it's not true? You yourself - ask why the pubs aren't
[ In Reply To ..]
defending the plan. Could it be that you folks are the fools? Maybe people are talking about it all the time because it is a really big deal for all of us. How do you know what MSM is throwing out is crap? Are you privy to something we aren't.

This country has gone completely insane. Maxine Waters tirade, - Martha Stewart flipping off Trump,

[ In Reply To ..]
Colbert and his rant, Bill Maher and his nasty incest jokes, and even the judiciary (Ruth Ginsburg) Trump hating warping law.

I guess this is the new face of the Democrat Party.

One of my fav quotes from Maxine is "I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion."

Do you see the irony in that statement?
Seattle Mayor taxes diet soda because more white - people drink it. Insane indeed.
[ In Reply To ..]
I suggest Soda Stream. You can make your own.

There is always a consequence to taxes. A long time ago people were taxed by how many trees on their property (in Israel). Result, people chopped down their trees.
I read about a woman in Quincy MA suing President Trump - for loss of enjoyment of life!
[ In Reply To ..]
If she’s lost all enjoyment in life because of a presidential election outcome she could be dangerous.

Well, then, Obama owes me at least $50 to $100 million dollars!
The book "The American Spirit" renewed my faith and the - made me appreciate what we had.
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, I said had, not have.

It is written by David McCullough, an outstanding historian. If you are tired of American hating leftists, give this book a try.

The ACA crusade has compromised my family's access - to health care. It would cost us

[ In Reply To ..]
$25k/year for the plan I had before for $10k/year. I’m obviously now paying for another family’s insurance in addition to my own. Obamacare has been a nightmare.

As health care seems to have become a "right" now, I thought a right is something two people can exercise without diminishing or infringing on the other party.

We had the rule of law in our Constitution and it was the best ever written. It was supposed to limit government. However it was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. I don’t think we survive as a free society unless we adhere to those principles. No amount of government can replace it. But government must not usurp it either.

We had mechanisms in place to pay for the poor.

Ayn Rand spoke of an old Spanish Proverb, “Take what you want, and pay for it”. She called it the Trader principle in another context. The opposite is hand over your wealth to help the poor or here comes the government to pick your pocket in the name of the poor or the latest government power trip.

What fools we mortals be.

I actually heard someone say repealing Obamacare - is racist! Nothing surprises me

What Do You All Think About The Rolling StoneJul 17, 2013
I consider myself a pretty open-minded person, but this is just a bit too much for me. It's not that he's on the cover, it's that he could very well be mistaken for some rock icon. I find that pretty tasteless. I won't be buying this copy because I don't want his face in my house, but I am interested in reading the article. ...

Interesting Rolling Stone ArticleMay 29, 2014
Fox News are doing a disservice to their watchers. They could at least TRY to mix in some truth amongst the anger-generating sensationalism. That way their viewers would not fail so miserably if asked questions about the real world. Yes, not opinion but fact, questions there are right and wrong answers to. "It's not exactly a revelation that Fox News viewers are spectacularly ill informed about current events compared to people who watch other networks. But according to a recent repor ...

Stone To Death Killer Whale Who Killed TrainerMar 04, 2010
The American Family Association, a religious right group, is urging that Tillikum (Tilly), the killer whale that killed a trainer at SeaWorld Orlando, be put down, preferably by stoning. Citing Tilly's history of violent altercations, the group is slamming SeaWorld for not listening to Scripture in how to deal with the animal: Says the ancient civil code of Israel, "When an ox gores a man or woman to death, the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner shall not b ...
