kidney stone ???

Posted: Oct 18, 2010

wow.  not good here.  last night, had the most excruciating kidney pain, unbelievable.  after about 30 minutes, the pain was nearly gone, just a throbbing where my kidney is.  then, this morning, OMG, hematuria like i had never thought possible.  that's when i put 2 and 2 together and realized what last night's episode was.

i'm 46, truly otherwise healthy, no medical problems, just stress.

so, i'm pushing fluids and taking vicodin and pyridium, waiting it out.  the hematuria has now stopped.  has it passed?  will it get worse before it gets better?  new to this.  no health insurance and i want to believe i can work this out at home.  any advise?

I lived for years without any insurance, and I know how you feel. I once had a terrible dizzy spell and was afraid of stroke, as that is what happened to my mother. I went to the ER and racked up a bill of $1,400.00 and had to pay every single dime myself. Now I have a limited policy based on low income. It's better than nothing. Please at least see your family doctor and maybe they can give you a prescription to lower your uric acid level,if need be. Take care. I get episodes of gout and am afraid of a stone myself. I know the pain must just be terrible.

You'll know when it passes, if that's what it is. I had one a few years ago and the doctors all said it's much more painful then having kids. I wasn't able to do anything except scream and cry. You should go and have it checked out since it could cause an infection or it could even be an infection.

What Do You All Think About The Rolling StoneJul 17, 2013
I consider myself a pretty open-minded person, but this is just a bit too much for me. It's not that he's on the cover, it's that he could very well be mistaken for some rock icon. I find that pretty tasteless. I won't be buying this copy because I don't want his face in my house, but I am interested in reading the article. ...

Interesting Rolling Stone ArticleMay 29, 2014
Fox News are doing a disservice to their watchers. They could at least TRY to mix in some truth amongst the anger-generating sensationalism. That way their viewers would not fail so miserably if asked questions about the real world. Yes, not opinion but fact, questions there are right and wrong answers to. "It's not exactly a revelation that Fox News viewers are spectacularly ill informed about current events compared to people who watch other networks. But according to a recent repor ...

Stone To Death Killer Whale Who Killed TrainerMar 04, 2010
The American Family Association, a religious right group, is urging that Tillikum (Tilly), the killer whale that killed a trainer at SeaWorld Orlando, be put down, preferably by stoning. Citing Tilly's history of violent altercations, the group is slamming SeaWorld for not listening to Scripture in how to deal with the animal: Says the ancient civil code of Israel, "When an ox gores a man or woman to death, the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner shall not b ...
