I would be delighted to see Bernie become prez, but it won't go down. The powers that be have already decided the 2 nominees, HC and Scott Walker. Hil will win because they have already decided we must have a womyn prez, and thus far, R women are completely unelectable, way too scary. After her 8 years are up, we will get a republican Latino. Then white male capitalists will reclaim the throne and sit at least for at least another century, assuming the US continues to exist that long.

We might have a gay or lesbian (if you believe rumors, Hil might be the first lesbian prez) in that time span, but s/he will have to be R also. I don't see a transgender prez for at least 200 years, but I suppose it is possible.

Did you feel that way in the spring of 2007 - about Barack Obama?

I don't think this is a sealed deal. I believe that Bernie Sanders could very well garner the Democratic nomination.

As much as I'd love to have a woman US Pres., - I think we can do better than Hillary. (sm)

I was also dead-set against any more old white guys as Pres., but this particular old white guy (Bernie) is different than all the other candidates we've seen thus far. He tells it like it is, which is something we need so badly in this country. Thus far, everything about our government is based on lies, fear tactics, and money. The USofA is supposed to be a land of equality and opportunity, and how's that been working for us for the last three and a half decades? Not well at all. So, since I believe it's time to set the wheels in motion to take control of this country away from the obscenely rich, and give it back to its citizens, I'm in Bernie's corner at this moment. Yes, I realize that one person can't change the world, or even the country. But it's most certainly one step in the right direction.

Ah, but I was so much older then - I'm younger than that now.
