I did find a discussion on another forum where people were questioning whether it was a true quote or not, and I saw the comment (below), which sounds about right to me (although I will definitely withhold judgment until it's proven one way or the other). Here's the comment I read elsewhere:

Apparently, the original source of the quote is from "thinkexist.com" and it's making turns in wing-nut circles on the web. The quote doesn't have a date, and it doesn't state whether Carville said this on TV, in a news paper etc. It doesn't have an author either. Conclusion, it's a lie...!

I've no doubt he said it, since it is true. I've listened to Mr. Carville for many many years now and learned a long time ago he speaks his mind and doesn't care whether or not people like what he says. During the Clinton years I didn't agree with him on much, during the Bush years I agreed with him on most everything, and lately I find myself agreeing with him more on issues he speaks about. Since what he said is true there is no doubt that he said this. Also, he has not come out and said he didn't say it, which if it was not true since it was said back in 2010 he would have already come out and said he didn't say it, but since he hasn't that's how we know he said it.

Like I say, Mr. Carville always speaks his mind and tells it the way it is.

Unfortunately, quoters are frequently dishonest. Maybe - someone just flipped pub and dem for instance...

....could you post a link to where you found that he said this at an MSNBC round table? Again, I can find no such reference. The fact that he hasn't come out and denied it doesn't necessarily mean that "we know" he said it. If it's only being referred about in blogs or right-wing websites, it might not even have come to his attention TO deny. This thread is the first I've ever heard of this quote being attributed to him, and I'm fairly well read and tuned into political news.

Does it sound like his type of language? Yes. But he himself is a prominent Democrat, so I still have a hard time making this statement about "Democrats." Just trying to use critical-thinking skills here! :-)
