In reference to Bambi - bringing this to the top - Find it interesting

Posted: Aug 30, 2011

In response to the Bambi name - I too thought it was in reference to (duh) Bambi the cartoon. So I'm listening to something on Fox called The Five or at five or something like that. It's got Greg Guttfeld, Bob Beckel and a couple other people I've seen on Fox but don't know their names. Anyway... they were talking about digging in the Everglades and some insane thing Bachman said and someone said Michelle Bachman is a Bambi, then as they were going off the air for a commercial (the music started up), Bob Beckel said "I would shoot Bambi". I still don't understand what a Bambi is. Maybe someone who is outdoorsy? Don't know, but I'm sure Bob Beckel was not talking about the cartoon character.

I saw that one, too, and was confused. - Zville MT

I thought they were talking about the cartoon too until Bob made that statement about shooting Bambi - what exactly is that supposed to mean? I know Bob has a hard time holding his tongue, but surely he couldn't mean that he would shoot Bachmann - I can't believe that even he'd be that crass! Like you, though, I still don't understand what Bambi means.

Guess: Deer hunters want the 20-point buck, but will settle for Bambi (baby, naive, easy pickin's). Kinda sick.

Here's the transcript of the show I believe you were talking about: http://www6.lexisnexis.com/publisher/EndUser?Action=UserDisplayFullDocument&orgId=574&topicId=100007214&docId=l:1488905426&isRss=true&Em=4

I believe he was trying to compare drilling in the Everglades to shooting Bambi because it's something that you just don't do. It wasn't directed toward any one person... rather an idea proposed by Michelle Bachmann... go figure.

Also, I think that some may enjoy referring to Obama as "bambi" or "Obambi" because they see him as weak.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Funny and suspicious. INTERESTING: I belong to 3 different fairly large forums that are mostly women, none of them political (2 are occupational, one is craft-related). Each one has a board for political discussion. Women from all over the country, across the age, race and religious spectrums. Reading these boards, it's very easy to see that there isn't any particular preference for Clinton among these all of these women. It's about even, I'd say. I think those b ...

I Too Find It Interesting How Political PlatformsApr 14, 2015
Not sure where the Christianity/politics comment went, or why, but perhaps a less faith-based comment would survive. I could care less what religion a politician is.   I find it odd and distasteful that there seems to be a competition on as to which politician can be the most Christian or Christian enough to get the populace to vote for them.  I guess it is no different than which is more physically attractive.  They don't need to be Christian to run this country, unle ...

I just gave a very long (sorry) update on the 15 and 16-year-old teens below, then went upstairs to get a bite.  While there, knowing my son was working on a class on-line downstairs and seeing his notebook out in the open, I took the opportunity to see if there were any new notes discussing Friday night.  Well, there was and, unless they know I am snooping and are trying to drive me completely insane, they did go through with it in the short time they were in his room with the do ...

Push yourself forward There are plenty of obstacles that can stand in your way. Don’t be one of them. Your own thoughts, assumptions and fears can hold you back just as surely as a solid brick wall. And yet, just as you created those self-imposed obstacles, you can let them go. Instead of fighting against yourself, use the amazing power of your thoughts to more fully enable yourself. Instead of constructing elaborate excuses for avoiding your dreams, just go ahead and let yourself live ...

Stonewall? Explaining Obama's Historic Gay-Rights Reference. (It Was IllegalJan 23, 2013
Okay, I was 17 when this happened, working the graveyard shift as a waitress in Harrah's Casino. My roommate and I didn't have a TV and her soon-to-be-ex-fiance was still proving, to himself at least, that he wasn't gay by bashing homosexuals every 20 minutes or so. So when President Obama mentioned this all I remembered, vaguely, was him ranting incessantly about this protest, without knowing a single thing about it. From NPR, and the link's to a really interesting story. " ...
