Bringing positivity

Push yourself forward

There are plenty of obstacles that can stand in your way. Don’t be one of them.

Your own thoughts, assumptions and fears can hold you back just as surely as a solid brick wall. And yet, just as you created those self-imposed obstacles, you can let them go.

Instead of fighting against yourself, use the amazing power of your thoughts to more fully enable yourself. Instead of constructing elaborate excuses for avoiding your dreams, just go ahead and let yourself live those dreams.

Yes, life is difficult and challenging, and requires great effort and commitment on your part. Instead of adding to the difficulty with your own negativity, you can choose to enthusiastically transform that difficulty into profound fulfillment.

Remind yourself what a privilege it is to be alive, and to be able to make a difference. Then, focus your awareness on the positive possibilities and do what you do best.

Use your thoughts not to hold yourself back, but to push yourself positively and lovingly forward. Aim the power of your thoughts in a positive, fulfilling direction and your whole life will go in that direction too.

Only in a dream world - Henreitta Hermit

Okay, first I don't get the dislikes on either of your posts. I didn't find anything to dislike about them, however I did find them to be, don't know the right word, maybe sappy or dream like, bordering on cultish (like the flower children Haite Ashberry type of feeling).

Here's my take on this post and what I think:

"There are plenty of obstacles that can stand in your way. Don't be one of them" - Sometimes we need to be the obstacle because it's not all roses and wine. Those may not be obstacles, they may be a sign that you need to stop and think about the curves in your path.

"Your own thoughts, assumptions, and fears can hold you back..." Again, these may not be obstacle, but rather signs that you should stop and take a look and reevaluate the situation. Not everything is an "obstacle". Plus unless he has specifics about those "obstacles" we just don't know what he's talking about.

"Instead of fighting against yourself.."
Stop and think. Take a listen. Don't think of it as fighting yourself. That is negative, but think of it as evaluating your circumstances. If you have questions there is a reason why. Those are not "excuses for avoiding dreams", those thoughts and ideas and questions you have is your instinct. If you don't think things through and question what doesn't sound right you won't know the right path to take. Don't "just go ahead and let yourself live those dreams". If you go in blindly thinking everything will work out and I don't have to think about anything, that is a sure fire way to fail. Again, use your instincts. Question everything and think things through. If you go blindly you cannot reverse some of the mistake you would make by "just going ahead"

"Yes, life is difficult and challenging and requires great effort". I most certainly agree with his first part. Second part. It is not adding difficulty or negativity if you sit back and think things through ahead of time.

It is not a "privilege" to be alive. We are just alive. A privilege is something you earn. To think you need to earn the right to be alive is so negative.

The last paragraph I agree with, but not the same sappy way. :-) We should all be thinking of a way to better our lives.

I don't think either of your posts deserved a "dislike" (IMHO), but I just found it a little sappy, happy happy joy joy type of a post. Some of his points it was as if he was saying, don't think about things, don't work things out in your mind before stepping forward with your plans and going over the goods and bads of what could happen, just don't think and live your dreams because you are a free soul and everyone loves you and joy to the world and get your flower power buttons over here. LOL. It was just a little too 1970ish for me.

I saw it differently, but I am a Christian and I know - the power of thoughts, words and

believing. And it is a privilege to be alive, God gives life and he CAN take it away.

I thank him for the breath that he put in my body when I wake up in the morning. It is a blessing to live to see another day. Life is a gift, and I consider that a privilege.

Who knows, somebody out there may have needed her post and maybe it will benefit someone.

I thought it was very thoughtful of her to share.

Didn't say I wasn't a Christian - Henrietta Hermit

I am thankful to God for a lot of things, other things, not so much. I don't thank him for the fights, the suffering of children, the suffering of innocent pets. I don't thank him for murderers and thiefs, and killers. I don't thank him for the crooked politicians and bankers that are stealing Americans money while they suffer. The hunger the homelessness.

I thank God I'm alive, and yes I know he can take me life at any time, but I don't sit and dwell on it. He will do with me what He wants to do with me whenever HE wants. But I don't consider it a privaledge. A privilege is something you earn. You should not have to wake up every morning worrying whether you've earned the right to live and if so why. You just live because of the goodness of God.

Didn't say I didn't like her post either. In fact I wrote that in my post that it's not that I didn't like it. In fact I even said I didn't know why people disliked her post. It's just too outdated in my opinion. If other people like it that's great. I just posted how I felt about the article. Just reminded me of the 1960s and 1970s with the flower children. His article was too negative in my opinion. You can't go through life not thinking things through. If you don't step back and think things through you are setting yourself up for failure. I have a relative who is always out of a job, no home and lives with friends and family whenever he can because he doesn't think things through. He doesn't plan ahead. In my opinion the author of the article was saying it's okay not to take responsibility for your actions because just live your dream and everything will be okay. Well coming from experience I know it doesn't always work that way. Made 2 huge decisions in my life because I thought it was my "dream". Didn't listen to my innerself (those things he calls obstacles). I didn't think. I didn't take the time to think of the consequences. I just did it. Well all I'm saying is these "obstacles" he keeps referring to is sometimes your inner self. It's God talking to us helping us make the right decisions. Don't ignore what He's saying to us because someone has told you those are obstacles and just "live your dream". To me these are not obstacles (which is negative). I think of it as the God inside me helping me reason. After all the Bible says the Kingdom of God is in each one of us (Luke 17:21). Sometimes we need to listen to what He is telling us. God is not an obstacle to me.

If her posts helps others that's great. Never said it was not thoughtful of her to share. I just shared what I thought of the article. Was just too negative and outdated IMHO of course.

A positive reality If you choose to cause harm, then you will be harmed by it as well. If you choose to create value, then you will benefit from that value. If you direct your efforts against the interests of others, those efforts will also work to oppose your own true interests. When you work to support others, you also end up supporting and advancing your own life. Negativity is universally destructive, regardless of the direction in which it is focused.
