It's called spoliation of evidence and it happened well AFTER Congress - demanded these files.

I can tell you that in the world outside the Washington Beltway, the deletion of electronic files even in anticipation of POSSIBLE legal demand for such records is subject to very serious legal sanctions.

So, for instance, a drug company has reason to believe that a product liability lawsuit will be filed, which might become obvious in a number of ways ahead of such filing. Even before any formal legal demand (subpoena) for relevant records is made, the drug company must take AFFIRMATIVE steps to preserve such records or face sanctions for spoliation of evidence.

There's no question that Clinton and her minions - both technical and legal - are guilty of spoliation of evidence and, as a consequence, obstruction of justice.

The calendar, of course, would allow the time line of Clinton's activities (e.g. meetings, emails or what we have of them, etc.) to be compared to a time line of corresponding donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Why should it take months to release a calendar of activities, which is almost certainly contained in a single digital file, or a small set of related files?

There is no reason, of course, except the outrageous indifference to Congress (and we, the people) that this administration has shown from the very first day of its miserable existence.

In the case of influence-peddling, by the way, direct evidence is fairly rare. As such, it is permitted for juries to draw reasonable conclusions based on the sequence of events, and to assume that they are related, especially where a pattern of such sequential events can be shown.

Outrageous, yes, but you can't say it's not clever, because it obstructs the ability of Congress to create the time line by which inferences could reasonably be drawn, with possible referral for criminal action.

There is absolutely no doubt that Clinton sold influence out of the State Department to the tune of $millions and $millions. No matter how much you might hear from Clinton or her surrogates that "there's no evidence of such" the fact is that there's a mountain of evidence, and far more than has sent lesser political figures to prison.

I agree, but I still cannot wrap my head around Trump being president either. He is such a flip-flopper and sometimes says things off the cuff that are just down-right scary to me. I wish both parties had presented better options for us to choose from. I get that people are fed up with how things are now, but the only options we were given were out in left field or more corrupt than the usual politicians. Canada lookin' good about now! All we can hope for is only 4 years of whatever jerk will be in charge and that they won't make too big a mess!

The fact the usual reply to any criticism of their candidate comes down to "buy the other one is worse" says all that needs to be said about this election.

I agree that all we can realistically pray for is a 1-term President with a Congress that remains totally gridlocked so virtually no legislation is passed.
