Four top law firms decline to represent Trump

Posted: Jun 7, 2017

Not only do they feel that he will not take their advice but he has a history of not paying his legal bills.  What a prince!

;

The things he has done in the past are - catching up with him

[ In Reply To ..]
For those of us who have seen and paid attention to what he has done in the past understand their reasoning. Once a con, always a con.

He has made his own bed (not really) and now he has to sleep in it.

Reportedly? What does that mean? - An anonymous source?

"Four top law firms reportedly turned down requests to represent President Trump in the investigation into ties between his administration and Russia."

"Brendan Sullivan of Williams & Connolly, Ted Olson of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Paul Clement and Mark Filip of Kirkland & Ellis and Robert Giuffra of Sullivan & Cromwell are reportedly among those who turned the White House down. None of them returned requests for comment."

"But those lawyers reportedly said they were concerned Trump would make public statements against their legal advice that hurt his position in the investigation."

My question is who is doing the reporting?  Frown

Michael Isikoff of Yahoo News got the scoop - link below

This guy is an oldtime reporter, so I do not think this article is suspect.

I would guess they talked off the record but didn't want their names put out there in case of retribution by the Trump machine.

Some of them said they had clients who had been subpoenaed so it would be a conflict of interest, also they had clients who would take away their business if they knew they were defending Trump.

Michael Isikoff got the "scoop" from who? - "Sources" - who is that?

[ In Reply To ..]
If someone reports something and they do not use the source names, the subject is suspect.
Again, would you want to get Trumpee - on your case? It is a valid concern
[ In Reply To ..]
The one thing Trumpee is noted for is retribution and holding a grudge, also not paying, so what do you think?
I think if you go public, you will be protected - Anonymous = Weasel/Liar
[ In Reply To ..]
It's not like people are getting killed like those who crossed the Clinton Clan.
But these are lawyers, they are not worried - about getting killed, but losing business
[ In Reply To ..]
You defend a rat, other client rats may not like that, and good clients don't want you to represent them if you defend a rat.

Trumpee is a vengeful and duplicitous rat who never pays his bills.
Anonymous = Weasel/Liar - Who reported this? The lawyers?
[ In Reply To ..]
I seriously doubt 4 lawyers from 4 different firms went to a lone news reporter and told him they turned down representing Trump.

I do think a reporter could want to be relevant and/or get a bonus and could make up a story from "sources" or anonymous people he needs to "protect".
It really cracks me up - that the same ones
[ In Reply To ..]
who demand proof practically in blood are the same ones who blindly believe Trump when he tweets that something is not so, or the media is FAKE and so unfair to him, etc... double standard!
So you believe 4 lawyers from 4 different firms - confided in a lone reporter?
[ In Reply To ..]
This isn't asking proof in blood, it is asking logically why you can believe this 4-lawyer story?

expand a program that pays U.S. employers to hire foreign STEM students taught in America, a move that could end up punishing American college grads and even the elderly, according to an immigration think tank. Currently, the program urges companies to hire STEM students for a year. CIS said firms are paid up to $10,000 to participate. The new proposal, said CIS, is to add on another year and $2,000 in bonuses. More at washingtonexaminer.com ...

States Decline To Set Up Exchanges For Insurance,Nov 18, 2012
Georgia, Ohio and Wisconsin joined more than a dozen other states on Friday in saying they would not establish health insuranceexchanges, while a handful of other states said they would take advantage of an extra month allowed by the Obama administration to make decisions.    The exchanges — online markets where consumers can shop for private insurance subsidized by the federal government — are a centerpiece of President Obama’s health care law. &n ...

Trump Paid Off More AGs In His Trump University ScandalSep 07, 2016
Current Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, investigated Trump University when Abbott served as Texas attorney general. After Abbott dropped the investigation, Trump donated $35,000 to his gubernatorial campaign. All I have seen is Hillary bashing on this site. Has anyone mentioned how brash, rude, and just plain disgraceful Trump is acting during his speeches? How he made fun of a disabled person, how he is planning on attacking China?, how he told a woman to remove her crying child from the room during one of his "speeches"? Do any of you realize he has no idea how to be diplomatic? Do you realize what will happen to the USA if he ticks off China and starts another war, especially with this superpower ...

I am voting for Trump.  I have always wanted a president who refuses to learn anything about his prospective job because I don't like learning either.  I have always wanted a president who tells me to punch someone in the face because I like punching people.  I have always wanted a president who speaks in language I can understand because I hate looking up those big words in the dictionary.  I have always wanted a president who tells me its okay to hate all those people ...

TRUMP ALL THE WAYMar 03, 2016
I am so sick of how this election is going.  How can any of the so called Senators in this race say that he would not be a good President as well as others in the Washington elite.  I mean look at President Obama, really what qualifications did he really have.  I would like to have policy specifics but as I recall, Obama during his election did not have a lot of substance.  Let the voters pick who they want and let the Washington establishment stay out of it. ...

I'd make up life-size cardboard Bushes - Ma, Pa and Bro.  Ma would be holding a sign saying "Down with Donald!"  Pa would be holding his nose.  Bro would be thumbs-down with a scowl. I'd prop them in a hay wagon and wheel it onto the stage in the middle of Trump's speech.  At that point, Donald would look around, take a long look, turn to the mic and say, "We just can't get rid of 'em, can we?....They're everywhere."   ...

If I Were Trump, One Thing I Would DoSep 10, 2016
I would ask all my supporters to tell any pollster who calls that they support Hillary Clinton. One of two things would probably happen: 1. Pollsters fall for it and get the election wildly wrong. 2. Pollsters don't fall for it and can't make any predictions. Either way, it would be the end of the disgusting, crooked polling business that seems to be more trying to influence opinion than objectively reporting it, and we'd all be much better off without them. ...
