Try this.  As a hint, I suggest going towards the end and starting with the taxation plans first.

The problem with this is.... - Kendra

that this does not account for the fact that when taxes go up, employment goes down, thus actually reducing the amount of revenue. Lowering taxes increases actual revenue brought in by taxation. When nobody had any money because the government has taken more than it should, there is no job creation, thus lower incomes and lower revenue. And, of course, as the article suggests, people put out more energy trying to avoid paying taxes.

The problem with that is - it is wrong

[ In Reply To ..]
When President Bill Clinton raised taxes in 1993, the unemployment rate dropped, from 6.9 to 6.1 percent, and kept falling each of the next seven years. When President Bush cut taxes in 2001, the unemployment rate rose, from 4.7 to 5.8 percent to whatever it is now.

It is not wrong. History hand common sense show - Kendra

that raising taxes does not create jobs. There were other factors at play during these administrations. If you take an already failing job market and economy and add higher taxes to the mix, do you really think that job creation will happen?

also tell us that Bush was NOT handed a failing economy. Far from it. The previous post handed you a couples of fact which you have summarily dismissed, so I have to ask, what history are you talking about and where is the common sense in this logic?
Did you read the article I posted a link to? - Kendra

Those facts that you summarily dismissed? That is the history that I am talking about. I am certainly not a Bush fan, but Obama has trashed the economy far more than Bush could ever have hoped to. I really hope that he is not allowed to continue on the ridiculous spending spree, raising taxes to not quite pay for it. Once more people are out of jobs, due to higher taxes, they will then be on welfare or 3 years of unemployment, thus adding even more to spending--raising the debt even higher.

Did anyone fix the budget? Just curious. - Backwards Typist

Just curious. The cuts were tough choices.

I did, before I was even halfway through. - Zville MT

The cuts were tough choices, but I don't understand where people think the money is going to come from to continue to pay for every pet project. If we don't need it to run the country or protect the country, it goes - simple as that.

I fixed the budget. - Trigger Happy

Most of it I fixed by cutting spending. Wish the administration would use that link and perhaps...GET A CLUE. ;)

I am sick and tired of the cuts to poor people. - Why shouldn't the rich pony up?

[ In Reply To ..]
The rich made their money off the backs of the lower and middle class, but the CEOs and Wall Street types keep getting their bonuses, while everyone else gets unemployment and whatever might be donated to the food shelf.

What Do You Think Of O's Budget Plans?Feb 15, 2011
'Scuse me for any typos or double remarks if any. I am trying to type this as he speaks. He plans to veto earmarks (how can this happen-there is no line item veto), cut LIHEAP program, freeze federal employee wages for 2 years (didn't they already do that?), cut military spending as Gates wanted, will work with everyone to simplify the tax code, but it sounds like he doesn't want to change anything with SS. He wants to increase taxes for those earning over $200K. Then he wants to ...

Budget To Be Passed (hopefully) Apr 21, 2010
By Walter Alarkon - 04/20/10 08:50 AM ET Senate Democrats have written their budget resolution so they can pass jobs legislation using reconciliation, the controversial process used last month to move healthcare reform. The resolution does not specify what specific jobs measures could be covered, and does not explicitly allow for the use of reconciliation rules to pass energy legislation or the extension of George W. Bush-era tax cuts set to expire at the end of the ...

Budget (or Lack Of)Aug 11, 2012
Question for liberals - if Obama is such a wonderful president and manager, can anyone tell me why he has not had a budget in 3-1/2 years?  He is such a dismal failure.   Having a hard time admitting it, I guess.  The Romney/Ryan 2012 ticket is now the ticket of hope.  I have more hope today than I've had in a long while.  ...

Sequestration Is Only 2.4% Of The BudgetFeb 27, 2013
The sequester cuts are only 2.4% of the whole debt and most won’t take place for another month. A message for the Democrats:  STOP THE SPENDING. STOP THE WASTE IN THE GOVERNMENT SPENDING; I.E., The Zombie training, the shrimp on the treadmill study and all the other stupid projects that received millions of dollars.  There’s where your 2.4% cuts should be and this is what the Republicans were trying to get stopped last year. Balanced Budget Out Of ReachApr 24, 2010
The financial crisis and deep recession have made the long-term fiscal outlook so much worse that many economic experts no longer believe it will be possible, politically or practically, to balance the federal budget. Instead, the best that can be hoped for is to stabilize soaring government debt relative to the size of the economy, these experts say. And even doing that could take a decade or more and require painful tax increases and spending cuts, they add. The budget deficit totaled $1.4 tr ...

Democrats Release BudgetMar 13, 2013
Highlights: Instead, Murray's blueprint calls for more modest initiatives for the nation's fiscal health. They include:   Fully replacing the sequester — $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts over 10 years that kicked in March 1 — with a 50/50 combination of spending cuts and new revenue. A $100 billion stimulus package directed at building the nation's deteriorating roads and bridges, repairing public schools and paying for increased broadband access in ...

going to pay for more big government business as usual. At the CNBC debate on October 28, Ted Cruz released his tax reform proposal, which I believe is the best of all the presidential candidates' plans. At Tuesday night's debate, Cruz released a spending reduction plan showing how he will pay for the tax cut involved in the tax reform plan. For the individual income tax under his tax reform, Cruz's plan provides for one flat rate of 10% on everything wages, capital gains, ...

Trump's Proposed BudgetMar 17, 2017
is a disgrace.  We already spend more on the military than the next 7 countries combined.  They also need to learn how to budget and save.  I would spend anything on those who have been in combat but when the military spends millions for redesigned uniforms and the budget cuts meals on wheels it makes me sick.  And the tax cut for the 1% hasn't even come yet. ...

Paul Ryan - GOP Budget ProposalFeb 12, 2010
Cut Medicare and privatize Social Security. That's what the republicans presented. Let's hope we don't hear any more screaming about rationing health care under Obama, because that's what the republicans want, not the dems. I am amazed that they are not just sticking to NO. Whenever they come up with a proposal, it hits the fan. Like this tired attempt to do Medicare and Social Security in.  The good news is that there are a fair number of older people who are republi ...

Why None Of Those Budget Plans Make Any Difference At AllApr 08, 2011
We'll eventually get a budget put in there and you know what's going to happen? One or more of these: earthquake, volcanic erruption (Mt. St. Helens or others), tornadoes, another Katrina, drought, floods, etc. Oh, and then some terrorist will probably do something somewhere that we will have to respond to, so you can forget taking money from Defense. None of our plans matter in the whole scheme of things. However, that bail-out of Texas makes me shake with anger. ...

Budget Deficit Shrinks By $200 BillionOct 13, 2012
It starts with the figures released in 2009, when the deficit reached a record high of $1.4 trillion. Why is the column in red? Because, thanks to fiscal years, Obama inherited a deficit of nearly $1.3 trillion from Bush/Cheney the moment he took the oath of office. This year, however, according to the official data published by the Treasury Department, the deficit is 1.089 trillion.   A big number, but going down--no thanks to those helpful Republicans in Congress. ...
