Despite photo ID requirements in PA being

Posted: Nov 6, 2012

there are reports of intrusive self-appointed monitors working the lines, going up and down asking for photo IDs, trying to scare off those who are not aware that one is not required, stirring up confusion and doubt and generally trying to prop up a candidate that they evidently have calculated cannot win it on the merits of his campaign.

;

Just hope good people in the lines are "monitoring" the - monitors. When I was an Election Protection

volunteer, I couldn't come within either 200 or 250 feet of the people in line. And we were there to protect the right to vote, to spot abuses and pass them on for action to put a stop to them. Why on earth are these people allowed to walk up and harass voters?

My bet would be the winding lines are so long that - the intimidators are not easily spotted, and

they are hyper-vigilant and melt right back into the landscape when the real monitors, who typically wear tags or other identifying garb, are anywhere around. They prey on people who are not well informed and would not necessarily understand that this is not part of the process. Those who do know better could be reluctant to get out of line to report it or to confront them directly. As for myself, I would not hesitate to do both.

When they do get booted from the location, they just move onto the next polling station and start their trolling all over again. True the Vote has been around since 2010 and their tactics have been well exposed by now, so it does not surprise me we now have independent rogue partners-in-crime popping up.

Where is this happening? nm - backwards typist

.

Not sure. The TV report I heard just said PA but - Before posting I tried

[ In Reply To ..]
to find a news article but it was too soon to bring anything up. Don't even know what channel it was because DH was surfing the remote at the time. I'll post it if I find out more.

Supposedly, there's been tweeting about intimidation in Ohio and PA - backwards typist

Seems the New Black Panthers are at it again but this time, it's in both of these states.

Don't know how true it is. I have no idea which channel to watch to find out.

I did read someone posting on a site that he was asked to show I.D. (didn't say photo I.D., just I.D.) and was angry about it, but the deal on that was that this person was new to the area and hadn't voted before.

So, now these people don't think they should have to show any kind of I.D. when voting for the first time? That's ridiculous. That would mean anyone from any place in the world could come and vote anywhere.

If that person was registered to vote and it was his first time to vote in the state, he should have had a voter registration card which is good enough, and he should have had it with him. Even so, he should have been able to cast the provisional vote.

Can we say aggravating an already top-of-the-scale emotional day?
PA law does not require photo ID and a court order - was needed to stop the "electioneering"

which renders your opinion and mine fairly moot on that score. As for your predictable NBP response, I think I'll reserve comment unless and until a report from a more reputable source surfaces.
Well, i didn't say they were being truthful in the tweeting. - backwards typist

I was just stating something that's been happening. The feeding frenzy has begun, IOW, and no doubt it's only gonna get worse as the day goes on.

Here's hoping it doesn't turn into a free-for-all or fisticuffs-type of evening. People are more wound up this time than they were in the 2004 and 2008 elections. It just seems to get worse every time.
For all you know they showed up to vote. - I suppose some find that intimidating. nm

where in 2008 Obama was favored 57% to 41% for McCain and straight dem voters outnumbered republicans 65% to 33%, making the entire desperate effort an exercise in futility and a complete waste of time, but there it is.

and oddly enough it mentioned that Georgia doesn't even allow "passive electioneering" AKA people wearing candidate t-shirts, etc. Weird!

Despite photo ID requirements in PA being - delayed until after the election - Post is a complete lie

[ In Reply To ..]
This is a complete lie started by (gasp) the Dems. Lying is what they do best. I live in PA, I have family members through the state of PA and not one single one, in any area was met with the total lies and fabircations posted here. No one was asked for ID, but I offered it anyway. No one was turned away. No one "monitored" the lines. Every single voter in line voted easily and without mishap or being disenfranchised. The line moved quickly.

Just another Dem lie.

PA thanks you - LOL

For speaking for the entire state.

People say there are dolphins off the coast of mine, but I've never seen one and neither has anyone in my family. LIARS!!

Think It's "no Big Deal" To Get A Photo I.D.?Aug 20, 2012
Like many, I thought at first that it's not a big deal to have to show photo ID to vote since we're required to show it for a lot of things; but then I started hearing more about the difficulties in obtaining one for the poor, the urban population, and especially the elderly.  Now that I think about it, I can't remember one time I needed my birth certificate for anything since I got married 37 years ago, except for when I applied for a passport.  I'm sure there are ...
