CIA director taking the middle road

Posted: Dec 12, 2014

Seems there is some real squirming going on.  CIA director has never given a televised address.

He states interrogation helped reveal "secrets," even info to get Bin Laden, but is uncertain if the EIT portion was responsible for that.

So, a veiled manner of saying interrogation is necessary, but not sure if that extreme stuff report is complaining about really revealed anything.

I hope Cheney and Rumsfeld get brought up on charges for this.  It may not be the most heinous acts they committed (for instance Cheney's for profit war with Iraq is about as low as he could go), but there might be enough evidence to do something with this.

Do you have the same outrage over all the lives that were lost on 9/11?

Do you have the same outrage over all the innocent babies' lives that have been taken since 1973?

I see this same faux outrage everyday on other sites - polluted with trolls with

names like “Ted” and “Andrew” and then post comments with pathetically poor grammar that betrays them as trolls. Not sure what country they are from, but I know we have plenty here in the United States.

By analogy this is the conclusion made. The OP has been accused of "Faux Outrage." It has been stated "Faux Outrage" in the rest of the world is by "trolls."

Thought I had better delineate this for you, as conclusions can get muddy.

Do you have the same outrage over all the lives of soldiers lost in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting an unjustifiable war?

Do you have the same outrage over all of the homeless and hungry children in the United States?

They act like they didn't know anything, and state they weren't informed YET according to reports, the law, and the media, they knew.

U.S. law requires the CIA to inform Congress of covert activities and allows the briefings to be limited in certain highly sensitive cases to a "Gang of Eight," including the four top congressional leaders of both parties as well as the four senior intelligence committee members. In this case, most briefings about detainee programs were limited to the "Gang of Four," the top Republican and Democrat on the two committees.

In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.

Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said. The lawmakers who held oversight roles during the period included Pelosi and Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) and Sens. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), as well as Rep. Porter J. Goss (R-Fla.) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan).

There were more than 30 briefings over the course of the EITs and no one objected then.

All of a sudden, the Democrats seem to have selective memories. Are they all suffering from Alzheimer's disease? The lies just keep piling up against the Democrats and I think some people are waking up.

Before this is all said and done, the US Govt will - apologize to Al-Qaeda for all the

post-911 “aggression” and what if you killed the only person that could tell you when the attack on your family is going to happen and how it was to be done (Obama drones) as opposed to EIT, what would you choose?

What was it Hillary recently suggested we do? - Be kinder or something?

Did she know about the EITs?

I wonder what Vince Foster would think.

Allegheny River, talking to Hromadik and others like him. I have cowered under the covers long enough. Denial does no one any good. I do not live in Donald Trump’s America, but I aim to learn from those who do. I’ve rented a sturdy car. I’ve enlisted a wingman with serious driving chops. FBI Director Comey May Be Under InvestigationOct 31, 2016
Good for the goose. FBI Director James Comey argued privately that it was too close to Election Day for the United States government to name Russia as meddling in the U.S. election and ultimately ensured that the FBI's name was not on the document that the U.S. government put out, a former bureau official tells CNBC. The official said some government insiders are perplexed as to why Comey would have election timing concerns with the Russian disclosure. I think he has been playi ...

FBI Director Comey Dropped His Basket When It Comes To His Jul 07, 2016
Let's not put too much weight down on anyone's "reputation" because it has happened many times throughout history that people with sterling reputations do bad things (and people with bad reputations do good things). Before Congress today, Comey continually referred to "criminal intent" - and his decision, which was HIS ALONE, that Clinton lacked "criminal intent."  You need to understand that intent is absolutely not required to violate federal statutes with respect to the handl ...

in the short time I listened to it was that even though he would not bring charges against Hillary, he was asked if someone did the same thing in his department would he bring charges and he said, he could not, but he said that isn't to say that there wouldn't be consequences of their actions, and it would be up to the people of the United States to determine the consequences of Hillary's actions.  I believe he was saying that there should be consequences - and not electing h ...

FBI Director Firing In Early 90s Had Some Similarities To May 11, 2017
Less than a year into the new president's administration, the FBI director was fired. His conduct had been scrutinized before the election, but when the opposition party won, it took months for him to be out of a job. William S. Sessions, fired in July 1993, was until Tuesday the only FBI director dismissed in the middle of a 10-year term. He claimed politics led to his ouster, a view held to this day by some supporters. There are many similarities between President Bill Clinton' ...

My marriage has been rocky for many years, ever since my husband quit work to build his own home-based business six years ago after a car accident.  I had always supported him in his wish to make his own business, it had been his dream for years (we've been married 24 years).  I even agreed to become the breadwinner while his business was getting off the ground, which was possible because I think I have the last well paying MT job in the country.  Anyway, sharing an office fo ...
