rash

Posted: Jul 19, 2012

Any medical students or nurses out there, I have a rash that doesn't itch, but is very ugly between my thighs.  I am working, but i don't have insurance and I need to see a dermatologist. i am afraid it will snowball because if I go in and get diagnosed, what is the medicine going to cost?  Or what if it is something that i need to be hospitalized or something?  It is red and patchy and there is a lot of it.  I also have it under one breast.  I have tried psorriasis gel and stuff like that, but if it was psorriasis it would itch. This doesn't itch. It is just burning kind of.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried - OTC things,

I would buy some Triple Paste, sold by the baby diaper rash items. This stuff works great. My husband works outside in this summer heat and he always gets a "butt rash" and he says the same thing, it does not itch, just burns, and that Triple Paste works GREAT!

Otherwise, A and D ointment, or an antifungal cream.

Good resuls with Lotrisome, Cruex, Tinactin spray - Norrie

I have had the sort of thing you describe under both breasts. Intertrigo, yeast, chafing, etc. I have gone to the doctor and gotten lotrisome cream, etc., but if you catch it early enough the OTC stuff works just fine. Although an indelicate term, "jock itch" seems to describe it best. Cruex spray powder was the best, but now it is off the market (same parent company as Excedrin). Try one of the spray powders. I've seen liquid sprays now, too, but don't know how they work as I haven't tried them.

Rash - Very familiar

I have had the same rash off and on since I gained a lot of weight and ended up with fat folds.
It is basically a yeast infection. I was recently in the hosp for back surg and then had heart complications. I came home from the hospital with it and I used everything known to man. My doctor gave me an RX of Nystatin and Triamcinolone cream and it cleared it we within about 3 dys, and it was bad. Many of the pharmacy chains like CVS and Walgreen's have a low cost generic drug program. If it is really bad I think you will need to go to a doc, to get it cleared up.

Persistent Rash Problems-please Help!Jun 03, 2011
Hi everyone-I have a really annoying medical condition and am wondering if anyone has had the same thing. I am 54, 5 years of menopause under my belt. I have pretty much stopped with the hot flashes, insomnia and extreme mood swings (hubby is happy). Roughly 18 months ago I started deveoping random areas with hives controlled by antihistamines. A year ago I developed vulvodynia (so painful!) and started using small doses of premarin vaginal cream twice a week. It successfully kept it under cont ...

The Skin Rash That Refuses To DieApr 16, 2016
Anyone got good skin rash remedies?  I've had a rash on my left forearm for several YEARS.... it waxes and wanes, but is always dry and plaque-like.  Very similar to psoriasis, but my arthritis is osteo, not inflammatory, so I'm pretty sure it's just some form of eczema.  It's sometimes dry and scaly, sometimes weepy (especially when I scratch too much) and has become scarred as a result. I've tried everything:  Cortisone creams, dry skin creams, ant ...

I Have Fiery Red, Scaly Rash In The Corner Of My Eye And Down The Side Of My Nose??Feb 28, 2010
I have tried everything from throwing out my masacara, eye shadows, and eye liners and buying all new.  I've replaced my jar of foundation with a new jar.  I've been putting hydrocortisone cream on it twice a day and still it doesn't go away.  I tried Benadryl cream, a cornucopia of moisturizers and it doesn't get better.  It peels, itches and burns sometimes, but mostly it's just plain ugly.  I'm fair skinned and if I go without makeup, all ...

AL Deals With Rash Of Shootings Since Fri Injuring/killing 3 Kids,Dec 16, 2012
Since court cases are often won by arguing preponderance of the evidence, it may prove useful to draw attention to these everyday situations each time they happen, as was suggested in an earlier post. Alabama is one of those states that does NOT have an "opt-out" gun law in place for such institutions as businesses, schools, hospitals and other public gatherings who wish to circumvent existing lax concealed carry law by declaring a "gun-free zone" policy and posting a sign.  In most states ...
