Totally Freaked Out

It's late now, about 12:14 a.m. I was coming upstairs to go to bed and decided to check my email.

There is an email dated March 23, 2013 from a friend of mine. I recognized her email address immediately, as it is unique. There's only one problem. My friend passed away last May.

The email was sent to about four other people or "places." The first one listed was to JBURY. The second one listed is to "AnotherWorldToday@Google.com. I honestly feel sick and almost afraid to go to bed right now.

Just had to share. I can't imagine who would do such a cruel thing.

It's quite likely that one of your deceased friend's friends had their email hacked, resulting in an email that looked like it came from your deceased friend. It happens to me now and again that I am amone several people who receive an email sent from what appears to be a friend's address.

E-mail accounts get hijacked all the time. You probably just never noticed before. My e-mail was hacked last year and until I closed the account, "I" was sending Viagra e-mail to friends, family, and business contacts!

I often get e-mails from people I recognize, but that are not legit. Almost always there's a link in there that might be "helpful."

If I suspect something funny, I start a fresh e-mail (do not hit reply) and ask the person if they sent me the link. If they say "no," then I don't open it.

Excuse me, but this just totally gets my girdle in a pinch.,, My upstairs neighbor is on welfare... but does not need to be and totally abuses this. She worked prior to getting pregnant, as did her husband. I used to be an astrology fan but don't give much credence to it anymore, figure it's mostly just ideas of reference and self-fulfilling synchronicity, but the effects of Mercury Retrograde, on communication in particular, is the one aspect of it that I just can't let go of yet.
