Medical Transcriptionist on Wife Swap/Trading Spouses

The episode just started if anyone hasn't had a chance to catch it yet. 

 

I *heart* the woman who cracks the whip and treats the hsuband just the way he treats his wife.  Poor things works like 18 hours a day between MTing, housework, taking care of the kids, cooking, etc. 

Worth a watch if you haven't had a chance to see it.  It's on Lifetime right now.

How the visiting wife was able to do the regular wife's MT job.  Not so much being able to perform the function, but the privacy issue? 


How was she able to let a stranger listen to dictation and have access to medical records? 


I wonder how they worked that or got around it or...... ?

I assumed they were "dummy" reports especially created for the episode; you know, bogus names, relatively easy terms, easy dictator slowly reading excerpts from reports, etc. Something so they'd get the "feel" of the job without infringing on HIPAA in any way.

I loved it when HE had to sit in there and try to do her job...That visiting "wife" really whipped him into shape. I loved her, lol!
