Did you have a big belly when pregnant

Posted: Feb 3, 2010

I saw a girl who was 8 months pregnant but just had the tinest little pooch showing. I'll bet it was her first. And, of course, that last month can be a real killer for weight gain.

I did that with DS#1, but had a HUGE belly with DS#2. My skin was stretched so tight I felt like if someone poked it with a pin, I'd go flying around the room like a balloon does when you let the air out.

I didn't show until the middle of my eighth month with my first. He was 9 3/4 pounds! I didn't hardly show with my second either and she was a month early at 6 1/2 pounds!

My weight on the day of delivery with my first was 125 1/2! I was really lucky I guess. Don't have stretch marks, except teeny tiny on my low booty that are usually invisible with a good tan.

My mom is a little lady and had 7 kids! I have a picture of her in her late 30s in a bikini and she looks so fit and beautiful.

Not really. - sm

I didn't show very much, and a lot of people commented on that. But I'm a fairly large woman and my parents and grandparents were fairly big people, as well. I'm 5-feet, 6-inches and at 155 pounds, I'm a size 10. So I like to say I'm big boned. I was actually smaller with my second child and only gained 12 pounds through that pregnancy. Of course, I'm sure that the 8-1/2 months of constant morning sickness helped keep the weight off! He was born 2 weeks early and was 8 pounds, 2 ounces.

I used to teach a pregnancy fitness class at our local YMCA, and one of the things I taught the new moms was how to check for muscle separation along the rectus muscles. Many of the women had separated muscles before the end of their pregnancies. My muscles never separated, and I count myself lucky. I'm sure that also had something to do with not showing so much during pregnancy. At age 48, I still have a flat belly, but being active helps in that regard, and I only had two pregnancies.

Yes I did. I gained about 25-30 pounds with both pregnancies. I am not a small person though anyway. Not overweight, but not a petite person either. My first child weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and the second one weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces. A lot of my gain was fluid apparently because I lost nearly all of my pregnancy weight afterwards. I was one of those unfortunate souls who holds a lot of fluid, swollen ankles, hands during pregnancy. It used to make me sick to see this little 100 pound stick thin gal in my office gain only 10 pounds and had absolutely no swelling at all in her hands and feet. Pregnancy is an individual situation for everyone though. Some people get bigger than others, some swell, some don't, some get sick and some don't.

I am talking cardio for 45 minutes a day and some weight training too! My newly-toned shoulders sure do enhance my bulging middle, which actually used to indent kinda nicely, I think. Would You Let Your 16yo Daughter Get Her Belly Button Pierced?Jan 30, 2017
My daughter has asked me if she can get her belly button pierced.  I don't think it is a big deal.  I appreciate the fact that she asked me as one of her friends as a piercing "kit" and tried to talk my daughter into letting her do it over the weekend.  So she could have done it without asking me.  I called and made an appointment at a reputable tattoo/body art place who require parental consent, forms signed, ID's, etc.   She decided to mention it to her fath ...

When it comes to food, it turns out you can sue over just about anything these days. A California woman is suing the makers of Jelly Belly jelly beans, claiming she was tricked into believing one of the company's candy products was free of sugar. The plaintiff, Jessica Gomez of San Bernadino County, first brought the case against the candy company earlier this year, blaming "fancy phrasing" for her confusion over the ingredients, according to Legal News Line. Gomez purchased Jell ...

Update On Our Pregnant CatApr 19, 2011
Just in case some were wondering how the stray cat that was pregnant is doing... We have not seen her in a few days.  She was getting pretty big and we were thinking she would have them any time now.  We set up boxes and old towels in different areas just in case.  She looked pretty content, we would look out to find her laying on our lawn in the sun with her big belly :-) and then at night time curled up on our porch, but she has not been around for a few days now.  There i ...

So, 16-year-old girl gets pregnant by her 16-year-old boyfriend.  Her parents were trying to force her to have an abortion.  She refused, so they took away her car, refused to support her and she had to work two jobs (for punishment, according to her).  She went to a local law practice, who represented her, pro bono, and she won her case.  The judge ordered that her parents have no say over what she does for the entirety of her pregnancy.  He also ordered that the parent ...
