Kelly Preston is pregnant...

She's 47 years old. IMO, that's just too old to be having a baby. What do y'all think?

**Please don't get me wrong, I absolutely love John Travolta and yes a child is a wonderful, miraculous gift...As I heard it this morning...she is pregnant, not a surrogate. They've been through so much heartbreak, to risk bringing another child into this world, who has is at a higher risk for having Down syndrome or some other anomoly; let's all face it, she's 47...her risk is through the roof...is setting themselves up for even more heartbreak. I do wish them all the best and nothing less than a perfectly healthy baby...

At 47, she's older and wiser and I don't see anything wrong with it. I wouldn't want a baby at that age though. My parents are 67 and raising a newborn foster baby right now and they do just fine. Of course, they are not your average 67 year olds either. They have more energy then some people half their age. I do believe babies are a gift, at any age, so I wish her well.

I've been a huge fan of John Travolta's since his Welcome Back Kotter days. I'm so happy for the both of them. I was 41 when I had my daughter. I don't think I'd do it again now that I'm 48, but I see nothing wrong with it, as long as everything goes okay with her pregnancy and the baby is healthy.

Is she carrying the baby or a surrogate? I thought after 35 it was too risky for Down syndrome and other anomalies, not that I would not love a disabled child. She may be healthy but her eggs are still getting old. I hope everything works out for the best for them after all that they have been through.

She's carrying it herself. I hope she gets all the prenatal care one should get at 47. I know their religion prohibits some medical things. I hope they have a healthy baby - but I can't imagine doing it myself.
