I've read the complaint and watched the videos - anon

You stated, "Floyd was intoxicated on fentanyl, he could have died unable to breathe in his car with no cops involved." I doubt this would have happened since he was with 2 other passengers in his car who more than likely would have summoned EMS right away. For all we know, maybe they did or someone else did besides the officers?

I didn't see the other videos showing how he ended up on the ground, but they still don't show how it actually happened. It's stated in the complaint that Chauvin pulled him from the police vehicle. I presume he fell out of the vehicle at that point and landed face down on the ground. You state, "not "somehow" he repeatedly fell down to avoid arrest. I didn't see him repeatedly falling down or acting in any wild bizarre fashion at all on the videos. He did seem a bit lethargic, however. And how do you know that he was trying to avoid arrest? Just because someone goes "limp" doesn't mean they are trying to avoid being arrested. By the time he was in cuffs, he was probably already considered under arrest and in custody.

I don't believe Floyd was exhibiting signs of excited delirium. According to a published article in 2011 by the National Institutes of Health, "people experiencing EXD are highly agitated, violent, and show signs of unexpected strength so it is not surprising that most require physical restraint. The prone maximal restraint position (PMRP, also known as “hobble” or “hogtie”), where the person’s ankles and wrists are bound together behind their back, has been used extensively by field personnel. In far fewer cases, persons have been tied to a hospital gurney or manually held prone with knee pressure on the back or neck. Supporters of the positional asphyxia hypothesis postulate that an anoxic death results from the combination of increased oxygen demand with a failure to maintain a patent airway and/or inhibition of chest wall and diaphragmatic movement. This explanation has been further supported by coroners’ reports of “positional asphyxia” as the cause of death in multiple fatal EXD cases."

The latest news on cause of death is as follows: "An independent autopsy ordered by George Floyd's family found his death was a "homicide caused by asphyxia due to neck and back compression that led to a lack of blood flow to the brain," according to early findings from the examination released Monday, 1 day ago."

Both autopsies find George Floyd died by homicide, the county coroner's and the independent pathologist's.

Chauvin's weight is fully on top of Floyd's neck as he positions his left knee upon it, resting there quite comfortably, with hand in his left pocket or on his thigh, for nearly 9 minutes while Floyd begs for help, etc. In the video, Chauvin's right foot is seen to come up off the ground. Now you tell me where do you suppose all of his weight is being distributed to in that position? He's not supporting himself on his heels at any time in those videos nor does he ever let up on the pressure. It's quite sickening to watch.

Also, both carotid arteries could have easily been compressed on either side - one side against the pavement and the other by Chauvin's knee. Any compression on the neck like that would also constrict the airway; that's why this type of restraint is dangerous and should never be used on anyone. Unfortunately, Mr. Floyd didn't really have a chance at surviving this police arrest.
