I have a community of support from another website which along with a few here got me through the most difficult times. My first SS check arrived like clockwork. I had car issues $1,300.00, illness, four robberies from other homeless people, 4 minor car accidents and fought overwhelming depression. I made gross to 16k from working but had a vehicle with 18 MPG. Food and gas ate up half of what I made.

If anyone ends up in my situation, I suggest that you get prepared to be alienated from the very industry you spent your life working in but for a few sympathetic souls. I spent a decade on a news website and they came to my rescue. We are sitting at home in this job and without a family, we are at the mercy of the world. Churches and homeless shelters were helpful for suggestions but suspect to me as their procedure was to create a file. I slept in my car with my dogs. I am now leaving this life but can say this is nothing like portrayed on YouTube for the simple reason it is impossible to find a parking place at night. Sleeping during the daytime is an option and finding an all night cafe was suggested but loitering then becomes an issue and police note who is moving about in the wee hours of the morning (criminals typically). Plus, working in the day required I sleep at night. My no-dent caraccidents were due to grogginess . I wish you all well and again, thank you for getting me through this nightmare. To the others who have bashed me, I pray for karma to show you the light.
