First thing after end of last job, I applied at the Wal-Mart website. I worked in a deli at one time, so I applied at a few grocery stones (Publix and Foodmaxx). I applied for a courier service, which would be great, got to an interview and heard no more. I just applied at ABC Liquor stores yesterday and today, they have told me I do not meet the qualifications of the position they are filling. Well, I don’t know why. It would be a matter of being trained a few days. That was from my resume alone. I applied at Laundromat, was brought in to work for 4 hours with the 2 other ladies, as a test run, and did not hear back from them. MT was the perfect job for me. My people skills are poor. I was a happy shut-in.

I am in process of redoing resume and focusing on jobs from long ago (cleaned motels, waitress, car wash) so that resume would reflect I have been working with the public.

Thank you all. I see there are many in this position. I have come across 2 elderly gentlemen on Craigslist with college degrees and unable to find work. The seriousness of the situation is that some end up homeless. I just need to make it for 12 months and then, SS will be there to begin tapping into. I have worked steadily over the years. Just lately, I have been talking others and their feedback has provided a motivation. Moving to a new town has been made easier by the small size. Traffic moves slowly, lines are not long, weather is just what I like. I think I will pray for all of us tonight.
