Mueller is not being demonized because he keeps the investigation going without finding anything. Trey Gowdy kept stupid Benghazi going for more than twice that time with no results either, except repetitive nonsense which was fodder for Fox News.
Mueller is being demonized because he has the power to tell the nation what Trump is, what he has done, how he made his money, how indebted he is to Russia, and ultimately bring charges. THAT is why they must demonize him.
The only thing I can say, and just write me off if you will, is that all those noble Republicans you mention above again are only there by grace of the Trump train, and THAT is why they go along with him.
If you are a Republican who does not like Trump, that is not what the Trumpers (Republican base, like it or not, are 100% Trumpers, hence the Republican party is the Trump party) want.
His fellow Republicans realize that the base want Trump only, and no matter what he does they are for him. Not Pence, not Ryan, none of the other what they consider swamp Republicans.
That is why the incumbents will back Trump up, treason or not, because no matter what he does he can do no wrong in the eyes of the base and they know if they go against him it will be curtains for them.
You seem to not understand that none of them will get voted out for supporting Trump, no matter what he does. However, if you go against him you will be voted out (all that lip service after Helsinki dissolved immediately once he made that "correction"). That is the Republican base now.
