To heartbroken mom,
I have been that girl who tried to commit suicide. I was diagnosed bipolar in December of 1998 and am going to be 36 years old next year. I can tell you I tried to commit suicide on an impulse to try to take the pain away that moment. I was not concerned about the future.
I am glad she has realized she does not want to die. Please, have her write down the reasons she has to live and have the future be one of them. No one knows what the future will bring but I am certain it is much brighter than her darkest hour.
