I am so sorry. How old is your daughter? I would not be pumping any herbal, or whatever the amino acid is, into her system, especially since she's not a fully-developed adult. If you do choose to take that route, make sure you tell all her doctors, so they can factor it in if she has side effects. At least they'll know what they're dealing with.

There are things to say and not to say when someone tries to take their life. A lot of people get overly positive, telling the patient about all the wonderful things she has in her life, all the things she should feel thankful for. This just makes the person feel guilty, and that's the last thing she needs. She already knows she has those things, but she isn't able to enjoy them.

She also doesn't need people telling her that the reason she is depressed is because she hasn't found Jesus. That's not fair, and it's blaming her for her depression. Yes, prayer can help, but you don't need to blame anything on her. I'm not saying you do that or did that----but a lot of people do that, which can throw her off another deep end.

Best of luck to you.
